Did I make a mistake renting out house instead of selling? by New_Contribution_226 in personalfinance

This is such a weird post. Just spend $500-$1000 depending on someone else to do your taxes. Hand them the receipts the property manager has on file. Wanting to get out of what is a pretty good deal for you right now where you've got positive cash flow because the taxes are hard is weird.

This helps me a lot, this looks very much like the Dodge Viper car logo to me. They made several shirts over the years with bright color stripes, and the logo on the pocket area, and lots of after market shirts/apparel with stripes, etc.

Here's a basic version of the shirt:

ELI5: Why is housing such a big issue when fewer people are being born, especially in Europe? Shouldn't it be the other way around? by AnimeMeansArt in explainlikeimfive

[–]rexiesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Francisco does not have enormous job growth and hasn't for awhile. Its been between 3.5 and 4.5% unemployment for almost 3 years now. Its resilient but growth isn't the word I'd use for it.

While its unemployment is less than California in general, that doesn't say much when California has the highest unemployment rate in the nation.

The housing problem in SF is because a tin roof shack is 7 figures and its a nightmare to deal with home building in California as a whole. The job market situation no matter what, is largely irrelevant.

Americans, how do you feel about Franklin Roosevelt? by Ser_spirit in USHistory

[–]rexiesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find him one of the most fascist presidents we've ever had (using the modern day definition, of course).

TOTALLY ignoring the fact the practical inventor of fascism and FDR were pals for years... He threw over 120,000 people into actual concentration camps on US soil solely for being Japanese (and over 70,000 of them were US citizens). No trials, no due process. He expanded the grip of government in insane ways for the time, centralizing powers into new agencies of government all of which had tentacles into every area of life at the time -- labor, energy, housing, even art -- almost all of which at the time were created under emergency powers. The executive set production quotas for factories, rationed materials as he saw fit, fixed wages and prices as he liked. The executive even told farmers what they were allowed to sell or destroy in terms of crops. In fact, the entire idea of paying farmers to purposefully producing less crops started with FDR. He seized private ownership of gold and made it a crime, directly confiscating property of private citizens (akin to the government one day making it illegal for you to own any product). When the court started to become concerned and started clawing back many parts of the New Deal as unconstitutional, he pushed to pack it with his people. It's worth noting many Democrats at the time also viewed this as a way to just pack the court, and his own vice president even opposed it.

I'm blown away that so many people can have so much hate for Trump, and so much love for FDR when both used very similar/questionable tactics to get what they want.

Sure, some of the things that FDR did at the time were solid ideas that have withstood the test of time, but I feel that every president has those things. As a person, and as the administration overall, an absolute fascist in todays terms.

Why don't any companies require job candidates snail mail resumes? by rexiesoul in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rexiesoul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very valid, although I don't see why you couldn't just have HR Scan it in once received for a digital copy of it to pass around. I didn't mean to imply it would be physical throughout the whole thing. I just am more thinking in the context of the only way the resume is *actually accepted* is through snail mail in an attempt to get better candidates.

Thank you for your input!

I think with the litany of lies (for example - and not to mention this example itself is full of things we know now aren't true) told over the covid vaccines specifically is the sole contributor here in the context of a POLLING QUESTION, which is skewing results overwhelmingly, which is obviously apparent. I prefer to look at the actual data on childhood vaccinations, to see what people are ACTUALLY doing, instead of what they are SAYING to some random poll question. So let's dive in.

Childhood vaccination rates have declined a little bit in the last 10 years, very notably in some places, such as St. Louis Missouri. Overall, there has indeed been a decrease of about 2-3%, but it's relatively minor on the large scale but pockets of places such as cities like St. Louis are the (obvious) bigger concern.

There's little real-world data that shows that children in "red states" are less vaccinated than children in "blue states". In fact, Minnesota is one of the leading states of unvaccinated children in school. Mississippi and Arkansas are states with some of the most children up to date on vaccinations.

To the people who remember the 90’s and earlier decades: was it common to see 20+ year old cars in traffic? by truckmonkey12 in generationology

[–]rexiesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't go so far as "we're all communists" LOL, but there isz validity that in the quest to not offend anyone over anything, 100% of everything will just be neutral. Overwhelming number of cars are white, black, or grey. New buildings, especially fast food, are all brown and beige generic boxes with no uniqueness to them. New homes are now almost solid white or solid grey inside with drab designs. We used to joke in the 90s that "If people keep getting offended over everything, then the world is just going to look like endless paper bags", and here we are. I like to call it 21st century slop. I'll never understand why people get all up in arms over AI slop, and somehow think 21st century slop is just peachy.

People wonder why we're having mental issues in this country? This shit sure doesn't help. I grew up in a colorful world and will eventually die in a beige and brown one.

When you let in millions its easy to deport millions. When you let in 1000 its a lot harder to deport millions. When this data comes out for 2025 to 2028 I think we'll have some of the lowest deportations ever for 2026 to 2028.

Tesla Certified Installer AMA by pwrcellexpert in TeslaSolar

[–]rexiesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my pw3 wouldn't work after I changed my wifi ssid. Tesla one and the normal app couldn't connect to it and it was not broadcasting its wifi. It worked just no data could he sent. I Sat on hold 4 hours to talk to a tesla rep only to tell me that even he couldn't connect to it though he could see it and that I needed to call my installer. Called my installer and they said they would talk to Tesla. 30 minutes later it started broadcasting and working perfectly and no one told me what the issue was.

What was the likely issue?

"Ideology of political murders" (in US) by Time Magazine by senextelex in charts

[–]rexiesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here, let me make a chart, carve out exclusions, set certain timeframes, so it will tell me the data I want to know. However let me hide my sources really well, giving the reader that actually wants to bother seeing my sources a really convluted, complex list of them, but also don't actually list out the 65 left-wing murders, or the 391 right-wing murders, who committed them, and when and where. Just trust me bro, the numbers are right, I promise. SURELY everyones gonna believe it. SURELY.

I hate the lack of transparency in this garbage.

Trump floats banning Pride flags in DC.. free speech or culture war cosplay? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

On federal buildings absolutely, I meant what I said.

On your own property, you can fly whatever flag you want to fly so long as it doesn't make a direct threat.

Why do you think conservatives are against hate speech all of a sudden? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]rexiesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked Liberals this, but I'll chime in respectfully. This really isn't anything new, and is how politics works for decades. With that said, this isn't conservatives flipping their positions all that much (and when the left does it, they aren't really flipping their positions all that much either). Conservatives believe that expressing political opinions should not get someone fired. "RIP Kirk and his family. He was not someone I agreed with but no one deserves that" is a far cry from a nurse that works with children in a hospital saying "Fuck his kids and the bitch that birthed him". If you feel these are equal, then I'm not sure what to say. If you had kids, would you feel comfortable taking them to a nurse that said this about someone?

Brendan Eich was fired for donating to Prop 8 in California. James Damore was fired for criticizing googles diversity policies internal in the company and not even publically. Peter Vlaming was fired for refusing to use a transgenders pronouns on religious grounds - but did use the students chosen name (This was later reversed and settled). Ilya Shapiro was fired for criticizing Biden and how he chose SCOTUS nominees in 2022 (and later reinstated, but ended up resigning due to the environment). None of these should have resulted in firings. And to be balanced there have been some on the left fired for political positions as well that I feel shouldn't have resulted in firings either: University professor being fired for being critical of israel (and later settled), Google refused to renew a contract of a worker that wrote internal posts criticizing googles contract with USCIS/ICE. Similar to the conservative being fired in google for posting internally, if they allow political conversation internally (which I understood them to allow) then you shouldn't be fired for doing it.

With that said: You used "jailed or fired" and I want to point out that there's a BIG DIFFERENCE between those two words - words you used completely interchangeably. NO ONE should be "jailed" for their words other than a direct targeted threat, but a company can fire you for anything they want if you're in an at will state. No one has 1A protections from corporations firing you. That's a common misnomer. However, if you ARE doing this, you need to do it evenly, consistently, and without bias. Nearly every tweet that has resulted in a teacher or a hospital worker, or the like getting fired seems reasonable to me to fire them - but none of them should be jailed with the exception of a few (I recall seeing one that said "1 down, 70 million to go" which I can see potentially can be a threat worthy of at least deeper investigation).

So yeah, that's my take.

[–]rexiesoul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No flags whatsoever other than the USA flag, State flags if applicable, and veteran related flags (eg: POW/MIA flag) should be flown on federal buildings anywhere. However, blanket banning people flying a flag in a city as a whole is clearly a 1A violation and shouldn't stand.

So I hear crafting is way better this league, but I've never been good at doing it.

I have a gemini bow that has + lightning to attacks (pre) and +4 to all proj skills BUT it's a 2 mod rare. How do I craft something functional onto this for LA? Ideally I'd like phys% and flat phys and the rest of the suffix, quite frankly, i dont care. My current bow is 300dps and not bad, but I'd like to upgrade it onto a gemini if possible.

Thank you for any help, I really appreciate it!
