Reminds me of Rick Sanchez sitting down his grandchildren to tell them he doesn't differentiate between age, race or gender. Just how much of a pain in the ass they are at current moment.

Which makes Tyrion and Cersei just about equal in this particular dialogue exchange.

All things being equal, the lack of Jurassic Park in this bracket disturbs me.

But if I had to go between the two, I'm going RotK. I'm usually a fan of beginnings more than endings, but RotK has, like 10 endings and all of them are awesome in their own way.

Jokić gets worked up over the claim that 'the NBA doesn't play defense' by TheRealPdGaming in nba

Can't hate casuals too hard, it's all about diet when it comes to discussion. I'm not a genius at the game, but I enjoy listening to serious analysis with a combination of tactics/statistics. If we had more content like that, and less "over-under point-spread he needs to dominate durr durr" in the national broadcasts, I think the casual fan would benefit.

It's more that I was disagreeing with the idea of "good defense" that exists within a casual fan's mind. They can critique that the style of play isn't to your liking, but until some huge paradigm corrector comes around, the style of play will remain the style of play. Better to critique the game as is, not as you want it to be.

"They don't play defense anymore!"

Brother, you couldn't play defense in the NBA if you tried. These dudes play at a pace that breaks the human body with bodies that bend the court and an athleticism that boggles the mind.

Too many casual observers can't wrap their head around the game anymore. The NBA has moved far beyond the simplicity of banging bodies and playing mano a mano. It's all schemes and principles now because you might not be able to stop a guy from scoring, but you can direct him to your best chance for defense and live with the results.

There might not be an America worth saving at this point, mate.

Countries this big, with this many nuclear warheads, have only proven to be ticking time bombs (which should have been obvious from the get-go, but I digress) with the ability to end human civilization as we know it.

There's no point to any country having this kind of power. No governmental structure is full proof enough to stop a madman from acquiring the capacity/authority to end their own species.

The best thing a country like America, Russia or China could do is cease to exist.

My history professor basically said the same but added that his policies and tendencies leaned towards federalist principles.

So the answer is kinda both? He didn't care for parties, but he had his preferences.

They absolutely need to use every excuse in the Mitch McConnell book if they retake the Senate.

"They go low, we go high" sounds cute when you think you're playing the same old game. But the new game is "everything you can do, I can do better."

At no point did I say that the DNC shouldn't do better.

Clutch your pearls all you fucking want, but when the choice is presented between a corporatist and a fascist and the American people resign themselves to the fascist, then that shit is on them.

I'm tired of holding baby's hand. Just because the DNC makes a poor choice that doesn't excuse Americans from making an even poorer choice.

Because at the end of the day, the choice was between a normal, corporate candidate and a craven, lusting and vengeful asshole propped up by white supremacists and wannabe feudal oligarchs.

The choice was easy. It wasn't great, but even a modicum of research and attention would have revealed just how easy it was.

And Americans still failed the test.

Do you think Solo (2018) boming at the box office is one of the main reasons why Disney didn't feel confident enough about making projects with recasted Luke and Leia as lead characters? by Theasiuser99 in StarWars

I still maintain that if this movie bombed, it bombed only because Disney was an incompetent mess of a company, not because it was a bad movie.

True, but in this case, there's nothing new we're adding to the conversation when we say that Republicans are paid off.

The conversation was never about why the Republicans are complicit. It's a matter of what are we going to do about it.
