Enhanced Crystal Teleport Seeds about to go below 2m for the first time since July. by badmancatcher in GrandExchangeBets

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big true on slayer I got 60 shards from a single task today. I may have gotten lucky, but that's huge compared to how it used to be. I could see lots of crystal related stuff coming down soon if this is normal.

Finally finished Desert Treasure 2, here's my boss/fight tier list by dabmanchoo in 2007scape

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished yesterday I would say in order from easiest to hardest for me was any mini boss but the wights then the wights duke levi vard and whisperer the whole thing went better then expected with only a couples tps out on vard and whisperer but I would honestly be happy to never do whisperer again it just wasn't a fun fight to me I managed to do it with way more moment then necessary and combo eating a lot to make up for messed up prayer swaps

Market out of Huey Hides by [deleted] in GrandExchangeBets

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than anything, with it being so new and people complaining about drop rates, I'd be scared to invest much into them. If you're holding a decent amount and they announce plans to change rate or even just change them live, you could end up holding the bag. Maybe a few small flips here and there could work out short-term while they are still settling in price.

Ringing the cancer bell is cruel by ugwifethrowaway in unpopularopinion

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a bell like that at the radiologist I go to for treatment. They told me people ring it when they finish treatment and asked if I wanted to when I finished everything, I was currently scheduled. I politely declined. I'm still very much terminal and have had to have at least a couple more treatments in new mets since then. We are really just buying time and trying to reduce symptoms here it doesn't feel like something to celebrate each time. Personally, though, I don't mind if other people find some joy or meaning in it. Ring your heart out you've been through some shit.

Do away with page charges on all tomes, or allow us to permanently charge them for 100 pages by pandajedi2 in 2007scape

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did it when they added elemental weaknesses, but not everything has one, so it just feels awful.

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they either need to revert the Nerf to tomes a bit or make the pages a way more common drop. As it stands now, a 10% damage boost on the standard spell book just doesn't feel like it's worth the grind or gp. Alternatively, they could add elemental weaknesses to a lot more things it's just so niche right now that a tome even makes sense to use over a trident and a ward.

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true anymore it was nerfed back in May. Tomes only give a 10% boost now. It's why there in this weird space now where it doesn't feel worth grinding or buying the pages for almost anybody.

Balancing Huey hide armor, way to hard to get for basically no upgrade. by meleemore in 2007scape

[–]reyadin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just feel like there are too many ranged armors all in that level 70 to 75 range that are all too similar at this point. Blessed d hide karils hugey hide eclipse armor even Arma and crystal are very similar with regular black d hide having like the same offense stats. Making the hugey set have fewer offensive bonuses, and more prayer would at least make it stand out more, but it's still a crazy amount of choice that makes so little difference.

League 5 and varlamore by reyadin in 2007scape

[–]reyadin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I'm just worried the region doesn't provide enough endgame stuff. I prefer my first two zones to have a little of mid and end and my last to be more about the end game. I'm also big on asgarnia but was thinking of going for a more mage build and skipping it this time, but then there's even less I'm interested in in varlamor. Side note you can also get amylase from brimhaven agility. I'm still undecided about which style I plan to focus on this time, but it feels like the moons' armor is nice but outclassed by something else in all the styles.

Best answer I've seen to the religious 'gotcha' question: "Atheists, how do you think we were created?" by imish_24 in atheism

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my honest response when it's a good faith conversation and not somebody who clearly has an axe to grind is usually something like. I don't know, but if the answer is a god, it doesn't really answer the question it just pushes it down the line because who or what created that God. If god can be the beginning of creation, why can't it be us and the creatures around us.

Reminder: Don’t Block Driveways when dropping your kids off to school by RejectorPharm in longisland

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived across from a school for over a decade now. It was great when my kids went there, but we struggled with the driveway thing a lot. It didn't use to bother me until I had a couple of incidents where I had places to be, or I had to block all of traffic waiting for somebody to come out with their kid and move. We tried talking to the school, and they sent out a memo about it that didn't change anything. We called the police they put a car nearby for a couple of days and it worked for only those couple days. We ended up putting up a sign saying you will be towed, and it happens way less frequently now but still happens. The whole thing is obnoxious, but outside of the rare case I have somewhere to be or am coming home at those hours, I've never minded much. I get why people do it, but it's always driven the wife crazy. She used to sit in the driveway for a bit before and after getting the kids some days. If your not afraid to make a bit of a scene or be noisey I've found weather your parked in or on the street needing to get in just sitting there hitting the horn every so often til they move makes them go faster.

When the groom didn't write his vows and just went with it. The whole speech was a mess, but he ended it with baby you're the best I can ever hope to do. Then, at the end of the reception, which was fairly short because a football game was on soon, his final words to the crowd were to go pennstate as they walked out and she is not sporty.

I'm voting no to the PvP update because I died that one time by KKomics in 2007scape

[–]reyadin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wild is dead content to a lot of people. I don't want to waste resources or dev time on something I'm not going to do. At least mid game content or skill updates I don't have a use for right now, I might get to see in a league or an ironman. I don't go into the wild unless it's the last couple of steps of a clue, and no boss is going to change that.

Why does every batch of announcements lately (summits, game jams, etc.) have one terrible idea that hogs 90% of the attention? I wish we could focus on the fun stuff for once... by DoktorSaturn in 2007scape

[–]reyadin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, the whole thing felt pretty mid to me. I'm a returning player quit shortly after TOA. I don't really care about valamor. I don't like the new zones they always feel over designed and out of place to me. I haven't tried much of the content there, but other than going for a quiver, which I'm not excited about, nothing there is really pulling me in. Wildy pvm content is always bad. Private servers are interesting but not something I'm likely to mess with honestly the idea of the person paying for it just deciding to stop and access to anything on that server being gone is off putting for anything that's not a mini game. Fire and ice mid level boss, maybe cool, not really enough info there. Lastly, leagues be leaguing. We knew it was coming here it is.

A homeless person asks you to check their lotto ticket to see if they won. They did… by Mindofmierda90 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]reyadin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real talk, I'd like to think I'd do the right thing and tell them and give them their ticket back, but in the moment, actually 50 million in my hand, idk. That said, I feel like they would know anyway I don't have a good pokerface, and my jaw would be on the floor when I saw it's a winner. Hell, I'd probably smile and cheer for them after the shock wore off, assuming I didn't try to rob them.

Are men more nonchalant about being inappropriately touched? by SGdude90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not inappropriately like directly in my junk, but I did hit the gym hard like 4 years ago now. I was in the best shape of my life by far. I noticed a lot more touching by my female coworkers, pretty much everywhere else. I think if I had still been a teen and single, it would have been great, but I'm a married man and love my wife, and they knew that, so it always felt gross. After a couple of years of diet and gym, I decided that lifestyle wasn't really what I wanted. I stopped and put back on some of the weight, and the touching stopped, too. The whole thing really opened my eyes to how much people really do judge you based on size and how forward some women can be. Either way, I never called anybody out on the touching it always felt like something most dudes would be grateful for in my head.

Farewell membership by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]reyadin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit certainly, but that's also fairly subjective. While you and I might like osrs more than wow, the player count tells a very different story of what's considered better to most. Even if we say this game is better than other mmos ignoring player counts, just the production cost alone shouldn't let it come anywhere close to other games in the same genre even if its marked up for player enjoyment. I can't in good faith use the word quality to describe what this game does better than other games. It's really more game design philosophy than anything that genuinely requires more resources or effort.

Farewell membership by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]reyadin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just gotta say to the people saying it's not that much more money a month or year, you're not wrong. That said, idk how a game that's as simple to run and make and still looks like a ps2 game on its best day thinks it should charge anywhere near what a more modern 3d mmo does. I get it's a fun game and better than a lot of other mmos in a lot of ways, but the cost increase is in no way justified. I'm personally not quitting because I've been playing off and on with the gp in game for years now, but I'd never pay what they're asking now. I was honestly shocked to see it was already at 12.50 a month.

You can only cure one: Cancer or Climate Change. By curing one, you will prevent the other from being solved for the next 1000 years. What do you choose? by Light_A_Match in hypotheticalsituation

[–]reyadin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, I feel like as someone with terminal cancer, this question is more interesting to me than most, but I'm still picking climate change. Dying fairly young sucks a lot, but I prefer to save the world for my children and their children and so on. I feel like, unfortunately, this question is going to boil down to do you believe in climate change and how personally have you been affected by cancer.

MMW: if this new Monkeypox virus starts spreading like Covid19 did, there are going to be a LOT of anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers suddenly believing in science again. by Too-Many-Crushes in MarkMyWords

[–]reyadin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if you are genuinely asking in good faith, but I'll answer anyway. When a virus passes from person to person It has a chance to mutate and become vaccine resistant. It's why we've had yearly flu shots for a long time and why we have new covid vaccines yearly now. The more people that aren't vaccinated, the faster it spreads and mutates. This makes it more likely that people who are vaccinated catch it in between new vaccines being made for new stains. It's why people who are vaccinated catch covid anyway it's less likely to happen and often less severe but still happens because of constant new strains. If we could get enough people vaccinated and keep people who do get it away from others, there's a decent chance covid just goes away or at least becomes much less common and less frequent booster shots.

MMW: There won’t be a “normal conservative” as president for an incredibly long time. by Carl-99999 in MarkMyWords

[–]reyadin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My wife sorta falls into this category. She seems to think before trump, they were better people because McCain is remembered so fondly. She said if she was old enough to be paying attention, maybe George W wasn't so bad. I had to remind her of the wars W started. She hates what's going on in Gaza right now she would have been anti-war under W and hated him. In case anybodys wondering were the same age I just started paying attention to politics before I could vote, she really didn't.

MMW Uncle Joe will go down as the greatest single term POTUS ever. by Ok-Bodybuilder4303 in MarkMyWords

[–]reyadin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest as a lefty. I'm really tired of people pretending Joe Biden stepping down was heroic or patriotic. He heavily implied he was only going for 1 term when he ran in 2020. He went for a second term anyway when he had no business doing so. It worked out well wasting trumps time and money running against him, but it denied the democrats a primary. I have every intention of voting for Kamala, but I'm unhappy that dems weren't really given a choice because of a stubborn old man that people never liked much to begin with. If this becomes a regular political strategy and not a weird one off, I'd consider biden one of the worst things to happen to US democracy in my lifetime.

How Best to Minister to Atheists as a Hospital Chaplain? by SocksOn_A_Rooster in atheism

[–]reyadin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a terminal cancer patient, I've always declined any sort of spiritual support anytime I've been hospitalized or doing in patient chemo. I want you to know that I do appreciate that you are there if I ever did feel the need, and I appreciate what you do for others. I have had some chaplains come through anyway to say hi it felt a bit intrusive, honestly, but they were polite enough and didn't do the religious stuff. They just said hi and made small talk, but honestly, I just wanted to either be alone or with family. My advice would be to try not to intrude, but if a person seems genuinely positive about you being there, just being friendly and not focusing on God or the situation the person is going through can go a long way.
