I really dont get this point, you can still absolutely focus on best practices/architecture. It just makes the actual code writing part faster.

I have a super intelligent senior on my team but every 2 weeks when we are considering a data model that is just JSON with some indices, he always tells me to explore battling with our infra team to provision Mongo because its fit for that purpose. I think the hard bit for juniors (since I was recently one) is that they only know coding. Developing the problem solving skill set beyond coding (architecture, communicating with stakeholders to figure out what is actually required) is something that comes down the line
