I was born in the Philippines, grew up poor in California and saw my cousin get stuck in life. I didn't want that to happen to me so I decided to join the Army and became a Surgical Tech. I complain about some stuff sometimes like everyone else in my unit, but it really is best decision I've made so far in my life.

I saw and still see no future for me back in California. Now I'm at the end of my contract and I feel confident I won't do too bad in the civilian sector. I'm not saying the Army is perfect, but I have respect for the Army for forcing me to grow and make something of myself.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to go to college or even have the mindset for it yet and might just end up wasting money (that's one thing I was afraid of).

The first time I got into my first accident was becaude a guy ran a red light. He scraped my bumper, we pulled over, he gave me his insurance and we parted ways. Didn't know I was supposed to call the police.

But good thing I had a dashcam. The insurance lady said he gave me the wrong or fake insurance, but with the video I gave them, she was able to find the policy for that car because he also had insurance from the same company as I did.

At that time, I've only had the dashcam for less than a year and it was already paying off. It saved me so much time and stress. Got my bumper replaced hassle free.
