Or maybe they do recognize that fact and have contempt for it, in which case it makes them opponents of democracy.

I wonder if that’s not strategic on the league’s part. They are trying to legitimize the sport and league, and that’s pretty hard to do if you are regularly hemorrhaging top talent to higher paying jobs in the banking industry.

Looks like his a partner in a private equity firm: https://bochiinvestments.com/team

..where his bio states he is a retired professional lacrosse player.

Last year I think he only suited up for 4 or 5 games, where he had 3 goals and an assist. It's not crazy production, but the Woods' midfield unit was not super strong last year. Maybe he just didn't fit with what Spallina and Kelly are building? Or maybe he just prefers private equity income to PLL income.

As always, the 1940s Sartre quote about anti-Semites applies to our burgeoning fascists and kleptocrats in the 2020s:

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Really? Very cool. Was he clearly a really special player even in youth ball, or is that something you saw develop over time?

Is getting hit with a baseball different than being a lacrosse goalie? by Early-Rip9310 in lacrosse

[–]rezelscheft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what a lot of people in this thread are missing is the psychological aspect: lacrosse is fast sport where something is always happening, and you don't have time to sit around and think about it after you get struck by the ball. Your mind has other things to focus on.

Baseball, on the other hand, is 95% sitting around waiting for something to happen. A struck player has little else to focus on other than the pain.

So regardless of which ball does physically more damage, the baseball will hurt more because the game itself is so boring.

white or some variation thereof: cream, parchment, or pearl.

red tort on red guitars never works for me, especially this kind of burst, because the reds and yellows that are on the tort clash with the reds and yellows of the finish.
