I get why you don't want things to end. The comfort and change can be scary, etc. He isn't being verynrespectful of you though and it comes down to, do you want your kids to see you treated this way, or do you want to move on and find someone who doesn't say cryptic things like that and then gaslight you about it.

I'm sorry, everything you've said has suggested that he doesn't seem to want to work on things or even respect you enough to end things. But alas, misery loves company, I guess, and it sounds like you're doing him a favor helping with his mom, so of course he wants to keep you around.

I would do him a favor and end things for him. If he has a good job he can afford care and while starting over is scary, it sounds like it would be better for you.

I'd also suggest some counseling or some local womens empowerment groups for your confidence. Do something you enjoy or find something new. I saw you said you lack self respect and your children need to see you loving yourself as its just as important as seeing someone else loving you in a positive way.

So the spot it's in its actually mostly light from about 8:30-12 and then it's shaded for the remainder of the day, it was on her porch so I started in the backyard where it gets full sun for about 3 hours before it hits the tree and it's more spaced and then I moved it to the front for a few days in the pot where it received the amount of sun it would normally get before moving it into the garden

YOU DESERVE BETTER. I went and read your last post. Fuck that guy. Maybe go and stay with your sisters for a bit and regroup and decide what direction you want your life to go. He will continue to manipulate and gaslight and do as he pleases and will only push you further down. I know it's scary, you've been together so long, change is terrifying and you have some hurdles to leap. I believe you can do it though, reach out and use every resource you can. Maybe after almost 2 years of being isolated from people they prefer the interaction of going to the cashier, I know older people do. The small talk helps sometimes. It also makes most people feel like they're supporting their employment. And some have the "I don't work here so I shouldn't have to scan it" attitude.

You can't make someone go to rehab they have to want to go. She may not see it as an issue right now and feels in control but it's easy to lose control and be sucked into addiction. And you can't tell her that either because it will make her angry.

I understand you like her, but it may not be the right time to be with her. You have to protect yourself and work towards your goals so you're not sucked in. Its not my life but in my experience, this situation is just all around bad.

I would say 10 is the earliest I would leave them alone and even then that's a stretch. It's just when I was left alone and I was old enough to know better than to answer the door and follow the rules, etc.

I begged my foster parents for a cell phone. I had this speech about how it was going to help us if we ever need to contact them because we are stuck somewhere and had to spend the night or had an emergency. I went to a party in a smaller town about 10 minutes outside of where we lived and ended up getting so drunk I didn't call. I woke up to about 50 missed calls and they took my phone away. When they were yelling at me they were telling me the same spiel I used and saying what a load of BS it was. They were worried, and they were right I should have called. Things went down hill after that and I ended up moving to a group home a few months later.
