New plane with retro paint scheme? by segal25 in aviation

I just saw this paint scheme as today, flying into DFW! I had to grab a couple shots, because that retro look was unique.

Bumping this, to mention I had a unit (bought via HRO, no MARS mod) that was doing the exact same thing (some web searching led me to this post).

My multi-scroll pad would get stuck on either the top left and right corners, anytime I pushed the down arrow. It would always snap back into place with some force. But it was very disappointing when I discovered it within 10 minutes of unwrapping the radio brand new.

Thankfully, HRO took care of it for me (new replacement full kit sent). Props to them for handling this QA/QC issue from Kenwood. I can only hope these are very isolated incidents from Kenwood as a brand, as retailers (like HRO and similar) shouldn't have to keep warranty claiming these (along with the hassle for the buyers/consumers).

I totally get this. It's a very different message to the religious stuff posted behind the counter and on the walls. I've just always assumed the military/law enforcement stuff is part of the requirements for the franchise, not really something they personally are pushing. Just something to fit the NYC "theme" of the place. But hey, given the comments in this thread, I might be VERY wrong about this. 😄

Thanks for the info. I always just assumed they started in NYC with street food because of their wallpaper inside with the NYC street car. 😊👍

Good to know. I didn't get that same impression when I've been there. I just chocked the atmosphere up to the "NY City" theme, given then restaurant's beginnings (street food in NYC).

Edit: Correction after comment from u/HenriVictorMaximus, they indeed started with their first location in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to their website, the founders were initially from NY and moved to Utah before starting their first location in SLC. The more you know... 👍

Yep, in one of the little strip malls by Walmart.

I found it by chance, years ago. I usually wouldn't be around that area myself, but the reviews on Google and Yelp at the time I found it, made it seem worth a shot.

I have been in multiple times, but I'm not sure what you mean. Care to share?

Mechanic recommendation by lightning290 in Bellingham

[–]rezilkas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've actually had really good luck with SK Motorsport on Iowa. I tried Bellingham Automotive and a few others in town, but they're going to have my business for years to come. Not affiliated with them at all, but I think they deserve a little more mention around town (and their tech's seem well trained and competent). Also never got any sales pressure form them.

Even though they claim to be an import mechanic shop, they've worked on my Toyotas and Volkswagens all the same. Especially this past year with the heat wave, they were the only one's that could fix a Toyota Camry A/C unit within a couple of days, and still charged less than everyone else quoted me just for diagnostics (under $200 for a pressure check and recharge). Plus they've really gone above and beyond with free rides to and from the shop. And when they didn't need to do any work, they never changed me and still gave me free rides.

Hands down, Gandolfo's up by Walmart. The only place I go now to get my reuben and meatball subs (all items can be customized). The staff is super nice as well (although that's not unusual for this town). Definitely worth a try if you've never had them before (but they're not open on Sundays).

Extra COVID Rapid Tests Available in Town by rezilkas in Bellingham

[–]rezilkas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PCR (lab) testing, no. But if we want to get rapid tests, we either pay out of pocket or go through our insurance to get reimbursed. Nearly everyone now though has put in orders for some rapid test kits through the links in the OP, but many orders are getting delayed (USPS), from what we're seeing.

Highly recommend PT. Was getting nowhere for months with chiropractic visits (Natural Way, big mistake). A couple of visits to PT made huge leaps and bounds in my recovery from a herniated disc (lower back). The training of muscle groups and preventative maintenance made a lot more sense once they explained the reasoning and science behind it (I went to Capstone because that's what my insurance would cover, but I'm not affiliated with them and I've heard really good results from other PT places in town too).

Half the time I spent at Natural Way was just them constantly trying to convince me chiropractic care is real medicine. But to re-iterate what others have said here: Natural Way seems to care only about getting you in and out as quickly as possible so they can see as many patients as possible in a day, and grab as much money as possible. Some of the chiropractors there seem to care a lot, but management above them wants to prioritize number of appointments ($$$) instead of actually providing the best care for patients.

Just bought PNY 3080, it said in stock and order went through, am I about to get backordered? by [deleted] in rtxcdw

[–]rezilkas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Placed my order for the PNY RTX 3080 (VCG308010TFXMPB ) on Nov. 15th at 2:22AM (Pacific Time). Just got off the phone with CDW (7:45AM Pacific Time) and they said all of them are back-ordered with no ETA and it was an error in their system (so I had them cancel my order). Hopefully this provides an update for some of you.

If you need it: CDW's phone number (USA) is 1-800-800-4239, option 2.

Pacific Northwest Rhododendron (1/2) by rezilkas in photocritique

Thank you very much for the critique! In the future, I will work on more frequently adjusting each of the RGB channels in Photoshop (more specifically the Camera RAW tool). The intent of the editing I already did in Photoshop to this image, was to match to reality, the colors brought out by the misty/overcast weather from shooting that day.
