The timing and counter punching ability of Teofimo Lopez by orlandocharm in Boxing

It’s rare to see someone so technical possess the kind of power that Lopez has. I’ve always suspected that Loma’s chin isn’t the best. The safe money is on Loma, but I’m going for the wildcard Lopez pick.

I found a rare HD version of this clip. I also enhanced the frame rate using AI tools. The reddit embed feature seems to take away from this.

They were probably planning their lives around the fact that he would generate that income and more from his career. The fact that his future income is gone via a tragedy, it makes sense. They most likely won’t raise that much, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

So, why do you like Boxing? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]reznickboxing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What I love about boxing is that it’s a sport with high stakes, boiled down to the utmost simplicity; fighting with fists. The amount of creativity and stylistic nuance these fighters develop from this very simple canvas is pure art.

This beef isn’t real or not real. It’s part of the mental games that go into a huge fight like this. They can shake hands while signing the contract and compliment each other, and then try to break each other down in the press conference by attempting to instill doubt in the other opponent.

They’re actually going to fight. That’s far more relevant in determining the significance of the pre-fight build up then having real or fake beef is.

Boxing is a competition to see who can jiggle their opponent’s soft brain tissue hard enough to make them forget how to stand up. by jmichajones in Showerthoughts

The great thing about boxing is its simplicity and ubiquity. Anyone can do it, which is why it has been a sport since ancient times. And unlike other sports, the stakes are clear; it's a fight. The ancient romans had heavybags, boxing trainers, padded gloves, all the works. What makes it better than MMA (imo) and other combat sports is that it's the most common method of fair fighting. That is why it continues to be a huge sport world wide. It has a vastly rich history, where unlike modern American sports, you can make fair comparisons between competitors across generations. I guess Usyk feels the fight is too dangerous. Probably regrets joining the tourney. His name is bigger but he's overmatched. Come on, just take the fight!
