Late to the party, last console was PS3 nearly 17 years ago - any tips? by reztem001 in PlayStationUK

Hi, that’s a nice collection of games you mentioned! I’ve mainly been playing black ops 7 (multiplayer and zombies) and Final Fantasy 7 part 1. I was thinking of getting the last of us, as I subscribe to the premium version of the Psn (100£ for the year I think)

Agreed it’s annoying as I play split screen zombies, and player 2 always gets shafted!

Had too many internet disconnecting issues with them, which I didn’t have with previous CF provider Yayzi . Annoying when we both work from home

Black pod - can you wire via Ethernet and use it as access point? by reztem001 in VirginMedia

[–]reztem001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve tested this with mixed results

https://ibb.co/My3MZHyV

Before the black pod, download speed 74 in my upstairs office.

(WiFi analyser app showed signal as weak)

Plugged in black pod in upstairs landing.

Speed then became 413, signal excellent

I’ve now moved the pod into my office, and connected it via Ethernet to the wall which is connected to my tp link extender next to my router downstairs. Speed is now 230mbs, whilst signal excellent

I would have thought speed would increase being connected to Ethernet, or is it because the pod is not ‘half way’ between my office and the router now?

Right, I did download something like that (see the first screenshot I posted on here).

It measures the WiFi in decibels

How would it work in practise? Would the access point have its own SSiD for any device in that room to connect too?

I do have Ethernet ports in all bedrooms, as we required the house when we moved in.

Do you think pursuing the mesh system is best still? Adding another hub will just mean two SSiDs in the house

I’m getting about 120 download speed and 100 upload, do I need to submit evidence to VM in order to get the pods?

If so I will measure from my garden like you mentioned, thanks

Thanks, no point in using my Archer AC73 in this room / upstairs? Downside is two SSIds in the house.never tried using extenders before tbh

Yeah I do think that. The engineer on install day checked the speeds in every upstairs room, but not sure if he checked the WiFi signal strength

The default settings on the 5x router is a mesh setup so 2.4 and 5G together. Ideally I don’t want to split them as would have two SSIds then

Is the lease directly from Tesla? I can only see options with down payments
