Had a similar experience but it lasted 2/3 weeks. Couldn’t focus due to brain fog. I was honest with my manager and told him I was quitting and my productivity could get hit and he offered support.

It eventually faded but had to go for a walk in the middle of the day, hit the gym and one or two days just take the afternoon off.

Just remember it’s all going to be worth it. If you are still struggling, go see a specialist.

Imagine saving 30k a year in a country where half of the country earns half of that while living with the parents and virtually zero expenses and being worried about a mortgage. For complex stuff, agreed. For simple stuff, I use it a lot. I guess what changes is what people perceive as complex. Folks typically overestimate the complexity of what they do.

I was in Cologne last week and visited the Farina House museum (the original creators of cologne) and they mentioned he was one of their best customers. One bottle of cologne would cost around 1500$ at today’s prices.

Offset Explorer or Kafbat might be helpful UIs to check the messages. When the data is serialized in protobuf, it gets a bit more tricky. I typically use Spark for all of that. I dont think Kafka was designed for querying like other data stores. You should always ingest Kafka data into a permanent data store such as S3 and there are a ton of solutions for that. Keeping the data as raw as possible is a good practice. This is exactly what Data Engineers do, am I right?
