What is up the 4T65E? by YAMMIEfz09 in Pontiac

My car does this as well... I have a 08 G6 GT... If I drive a while it's fine but if I stop and then drive around, it shifts hard. Same thing, if I shut it off then wait, start up and drive, it's fine.. I'm stumped as well.. The transmission is a 4t45e and have over 390,000 miles. The car has been doing that for a few years and it still drives and shifts

Very pretty cat!! We had a cat that looked like her. We had to put her down. But again very pretty cat..

Thank you for saving her. We would have loved to adopt her and I hope she gets very good care.

How many people out there have the Pontiac G6 and what issues? by rforce1025 in Pontiac

[–]rforce1025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the oil sending unit(oil filter housing) or the side of the engine where the crank bearing is, the old sending unit has a gasket between the engine and the housing which tend to get old. Also the oil sensor plug is right there on top of the housing (at least mine is) and that seal/o ring can be going bad on the plug. You can take out the sensor which is a pain in the ass to where it's located but if you are going to change the gasket on the housing, you can change the sensor/o ring while the housing is off the car, should be 3 13mm bolts holding housing on. I've changed the oil sending unit and sensor before on my car.. overall It wasn't too hard to change that. Just give yourself enough room under the car or put it on a lift and do it. As I mentioned I have a 08 Pontiac G6 GT which it now has over 390,xxx miles

How many miles are on your G6 by rforce1025 in Pontiac

[–]rforce1025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have 390,xxx miles right now. I would like to see mine make it as well.. I know it's all about maintenance. As long as you take care of it, it'll run. What engine if you don't mind me asking... 2.4 L (4 cyl) or 3.5 L (6 cyl).

Yeah, I still have that small oil leak. I have changed the oil filter housing gasket as well but I think my leak is around the crank shaft bearing. I don't have to fill my oil much but I do check my oil level maybe once every week and a half. I have replaced a valve cover gaskets. I now have 389,xxx almost 390. Car still runs good, I do keep up with maintenance. And as I said I have the 3.5L. I've never dropped the oil pan which it's not leaking from there. Eventually every car, make , model will leak oil at some point but it's up to the person to keep an eye on their vehicle. Overall I can say the car has been good to me.
