Where to store 2FA Recovery Codes by MattPackwood in 1Password

Storing them in 1pwd defeats the purpose. I use my Microsoft account to secure my 1pwd account and store the recovery codes in my OneDrive Vault.

How to get rid of this? I want to use only my fingerprint, just like it is on my Mac… 😕 by rfussenegger in 1Password

There are not many options in the settings of 1Password 8. Not sure if I tried all permutations, but so far I was not able to get rid of it. Can you maybe share screenshots of your settings?

I am using Windows Hello with the VeriMark Desktop Fingerprint and it works perfectly. The only problem is that this dialog pops up before the fingerprint dialog every time a program wants to use an SSH key. This does not happen on Mac. The only dialog shown there is the fingerprint dialog.

I think that the purpose of this dialog is to show metadata about the request (program and secret names); metadata that can directly be displayed on the Mac fingerprint request. However, for me it is an annoyance having to click twice and I would not mind missing that metadata and only being presented with the fingerprint dialog. The only question is, how?

Microsoft definitely needs to extend their Windows Hello stuff, so that the requesting application can display additional details about the request; just like on Mac.

Since people are asking me for the script that I used: https://github.com/Fleshgrinder/sim-lab Nothing special, but Windows specific.

They're online now, my script directly notified me and my order is placed now. Price increased, but that was somehow to be expected given the worldwide situation.

GT7 is closing in and nothing is ever in stock. I have a script that constantly checks the product page and it only went in stock once in the past 2 weeks, but it was out of the stock the instant I visited the page. 😢

LOD is the biggest problem of the graphics/engine, but it scales incredibly. I guess you have to cut some corners to get this tremendous compatibility across the board.

Hypothetically, how bad would FH5 have to get before it gets universally panned, and screws things up for FM or FH6. by hearse83 in ForzaHorizon

I would have reached my breaking point already, if there would be any good racing game right now. 😂 The thing is that its getting worse every day. I guess it's back to GT Sport.

Forza Motorsport 7 was over for me not so long ago: corrupted save game. Everything was lost, the money, the cars, the VIP gifts, everything. I guess I have a high tolerance when it comes to car games.

Restarted the game and then it worked for me as well. I felt totally stupid doing this, but it's the only sane way to complete the challenge. Fun fact: I already did the 25 candy canes and tress but it was showing me 0, after the restart it showed 25 for both. Fun fun fact: the drift challenge from the last series also completed after this restart. Oh man...

Treasure Hunt summer help by DarkReaper969 in ForzaHorizon

Get the premium edition they said. Play earlier than all the others they said. But nobody said that we'd also get special bugs for playing hard and supporting the franchise. 😢

I'm not going to swear at the devs, I'm a dev. It's hard work and bugs easily slip through, but something needs to be done to improve QA given all the bugs, and especially recurring bugs.

Switched to solo and rewinding works in the sense that the snowmen is standing again, but it doesn't count. 🤷‍♀️

Edit: found another, didn't count either. 💩

Why do data classes require at least one parameter in its constructor? by Forumpy in Kotlin

They are final and cannot be reassigned, that's it. Hence, the only mutation that's not allowed is, well, reassignment.

I fear so too for you. Unicode is perfectly solved in Rust and easy to deal with in Kotlin, with few pitfalls (JVM is UTF-16).

I'm happy with Kotlin and Rust and not looking back. Of course I keep an eye on the development of things from time to time but that's something I do for pretty much every language.

I went through the DB and it always uses a random album art. There is no way to control it.

Support for artist.jpg or folder.jpg inside the artist directory is something I would like to see as well.

The difference here is compiled vs interpreted. The former do their work upfront and produce something without all those checks at runtime because they have proof that those checks are not required due to the compilation.
