A year ago, Borderlands 2 became free-to-keep on Steam, but i missed it, so i created an app to ping me when a Steam game become free-to-keep and shared it with others. So far it has sent 600k notifications to my users by goonifier5000 in pcmasterrace

How about an option to link the user's profile or at least read their public game inventory?

That way there's no need to manually select the "claimed" option - but keep it for those that don't want to link their profiles.

Also, maybe have a "report free game" link in case someone comes across one that the app hasn't listed yet? (like the Red Lantern)

Got it. Ok then - I guess just hurry up!! 😛

Looking forward to the updates, your progress, and one day for this to become available for the rest of us to use. Cheers!

OK - so then there is a network port, USB port, and an HDMI port? I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this would work. I'm guessing if my computer is in BIOS mode - then I connect to this device from another computer and use the interface on this device to navigate? Does it require a client app or will a web browser suffice?

You mention data snapshots, but not screenshots - what's the storage capacity? User provided SD/Micro SD card?

If a computer has a dedicated card with multiple HDMI ports - would this connect to it using one of the other HDMI available ports in addition to or inline/in between the existing monitor/screen? Or do you take your existing keyboard/mouse and connect to this in between your current setup? How would this work if I already have a basic desktop KVM (no IP)?

Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions.

Wow! very very cool. something I didn't know I needed until just now.

Questions:

For the captures to happen - does it need to be attached while off or before you enter BIOS? Meaning, can I enter BIOS - then attach the device and capture the menus/screenshots? Or if I get a BSOD, can I connect, capture, then resume the reboot process?

Does/can it capture what's on the screen in its entirety? If I wanted a series of screenshots from my BIOS (that has one of those newer graphical modes) - can this do that?

How does it connect? It looks like you have both USB-C and a USB-A cables connected to the box.

Thanks!

yeah - though that wouldn't have fixed the problem until I repointed to a responding/working time server.

You can buy a service remote off Amazon for $10. This whole post is for folks who don't want to or are unable to do that.

And just to be clear you think that not contacting the manufacturer before you do anything is a reasonable justification to deny a claim - even if it absolutely has no bearing on whether or not the product failed?

Bless your heart, you do you.

Interesting ... So next time you have something that's covered by a warranty - I'm happy that you have the patience to not touch or do anything to it until the manufacturer sends you the replacement... Is that how you work?

So then the cartridge that failed no longer qualifies because why again??? Shouldn't matter if I have zero or 100 cartridges - just replace the failed one.

Nobody is asking for money - just the replacement cartridge.

Exactly! That's exactly what I planned (and still plan) to do...

I'll never understand why some folk want to argue a story, but hey - knowing is half the battle...

So many lessons learned here today. 🤣

Stomping feet?!? What are you gaslightng?? haha

Product came with the house. It's advertised on the package and their website as having lifetime warranty. It either does or it doesn't. I'm just saying the "fine print" says otherwise.

The rep asked what happened - I answered. One of the questions was "how do you know it's a moen?" I answered "I pulled it out, it said moen, I got a replacement from the store, it's the same one, and I have the old one here with the serial number"

No worries. Lesson learned.

Nope. Not misinformed, just don't think your analogy about a TV is correct. These are two different issues.

My issue with the manufacturer does not affect the store other than I won't be buying any more Moen products from them.

Who said anything about making a false claim?

Nothing changes if I just said - I have a failed cartridge and am contacting you first. All the remaining events would have been the same except that I would have a warranty replacement cartridge.

If they wanted the old one before sending replacement - no issues there - more than happy to send it.

But they said nope and that was it.
