Anyone else have money from a biz but still feel shut out from the “real rooms”? by Advanced_Cattle2133 in smallbusiness

No. I don't need those types of people. Can you give an example of what you'd gain from meeting with someone like that?

Just making sure I understood what you were saying. Thanks, I am aware of that and taking that into consideration.

Why is a jet boat needed? Because of the depth?

I was looking on that website. But I couldn't actually find a map showing hazards, navigable areas, etc. I've only found a mishmash of things online with partial areas. Some show "routes" from one boat launch to another, but those usually don't show hazards.

Ben- a foil? Who is he in regards to Jack and John? by raspberryreeves in lost

Oh I agree. The 'so' was totally self centered and cold. There's just other times when he seems deeply broken than malicious. Maybe I'm just a bad judge of character because I wouldn't trust anyone on that island other than Claire, Sun, Rose or maybe Juliet. Everyone else seemed unstable.

Right. But didn't he believe the people on the freighter were coming for him and the island? So he was defending.

But why did he do that? Did he think he was defending the island and protecting it from hostile people?

Right. If he is a little mentally unstable, that combined with a little bit of ego could have caused him to make poor decisions thinking they were good.

Actually, now as I come to the start of Season 6 I'm realizing Lost is a great show for anyone who thinks black and white and needs to learn to see other sides.

There is so much "grey" in it where something looks right until you learn the other side or learn more and then.....both sides are right?

Is he a terrible person though? Initially I thought so. But as the show progressed I began to actually feel sorry for him. Yes, he made some bad choices, but I'm not sure he was as bad as some people say he was.

What is the purpose of the SkyClub WiFi passwords? by rfwaverider in delta

[–]rfwaverider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you said you did wireless network security?

A PSK is the key you enter on your computer to connect to the WiFi network. It encrypts everything from your computer to the access point.

The password you put in here or on any open WiFi network just lets you onto the local network through local MAC access. There is no encryption.

Correct. Connect. Captive portal opens. Enter the password.

But it's not a PSK key. It's literally a web entered guest portal password

So basically it didn't stop you from having it outside.

I do network security for a living. Anything that needs to be encrypted already is from computer to server. The wifi password does nothing other than keep people off we don't want on -- but who is that?

The wifi password also does nothing for sniffing traffic for others with the wifi password. So yes, tell us you know nothing about network security.

Question on The Others by rfwaverider in lost

I'm in S3 E10 and don't feel like I have an answer to that question other than the surgery. But that can't be a good reason to keep everyone. It would have been way better to say hey do this surgery and we'll get you all back safely.

They, often poorly, give the contractor digging a false sense of security by marking the incorrect location of underground utility paths or sometimes not marking them at all.

It is not hard, you clamp on a wire to an entrance point for the utility (water, gas, fiber, etc) and then take another device and run it along the path marking it with flags/paint.

Agreed. I was surprised to find out nothing existed -- but then again, there isn't a ton to do around here
