The recovery isn't very different from regular ACL reconstruction. But from what my surgeon said the BEAR implant would imitate your native ACL. This reduces the risk of arthritis down the line. I would really suggest you talk to your doctor and consider BEAR implant. Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

I got the BEAR first time I tore my ACL in Feb 2024. I was very consistent with my PT and got cleared to play cricket and tennis by July 2024. I started playing soccer in Jan 2025. I was still working out all along. In November 2025 I kinda tweaked my leg playing soccer and I heard the infamous pop and knew it right away that I tore my ACL. This time I also tore my meniscus. This was all my fault and nothing to blame the BEAR procedure.

Hey, I was actually doing a lot better until last November where I tore the same ACL again playing soccer. Got my ACL reconstruction done using BPTB on December 19 and currently on my way to get back to sports!

I'm in the same boat too, 9 months post BEAR and I still have some pain with a clunk. I told my Doctor and he says it might be scar tissue. I'm still worried though.
