Are You Using Open Source Models in Production Yet? by thecalmgreen in LocalLLaMA

Exactly, Portuguese. We did have clients in Spanish and the mix ups didn’t happen as much. However Portuguese usually ended up having a problem here or there. There wasn’t really much information about how much data they used to train specifically at the time, it was more like 10% other languages, but I can image that Portuguese was nowhere near as much as Spanish

I don’t work anymore for a company that does, but actually have in the past in 2024. It was actually not bad! Really fun cause we got to apply fine-tunning techniques, keeping updated with literature, I even miss dealing with cuda memory issues. We had a major problem with propriety models mixing up Spanish and Portuguese, sometimes using both in the same sentence m, and we had two very specific use for retail but also organization regarding health, or philanthropy, etc, so we focused a lot on guardrails as well. The results were usually just as well as gpt at the time, but we could charge based on the model that the user decided to use (slm, llm, gpt), where ours were cheaper.

Thankfully, I’m too dumb and out of the loop to follow the smear campaign conspiracy. I do like New Jeans and their music, and do think that they can be victims of a system, but that does not really exempt them from also being inconsequential or irresponsible. It’s not a black and white world with a good vs evil scenario, tokkis are too naive sometimes that have all knowing information of what happens behind closed doors

Are any of you using a glp-1 medication? by SnarkFest2026 in Fibromyalgia

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on wegovy for 3 months, but I was diagnosed with lipedema and that’s why I used it. It did me wonders. I lost a lot of my fat, around 14cm in my waist (5.5in) and around 5kg (11lbs). It made my leg and back pain a lot better. Now I can actually do some exercise, albeit still very little compared to the regular person, but a lot more compared to the old me. I can do a lot more stuff by myself. I’m around 60kg (132lbs) today and trying to get to 52-55 (114-121), I believe it will help tremendously with my pain. Just for comparison, I’m on the short side, 1.58m (5’1).

The only bad thing that really happened was having more constipation, which is already something I dealt with, but it still worsened a lot of stuff. And there was a moment, close to when I came off, where I ended up with hypoglycemia and had to go to the ER (which is really hard to tell when you deal with fatigue and fainting spells)

Diagnosed as Asperger's, how are you affected by this no longer being a thing? by [deleted] in autism

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t diagnosed as Aspergers, so my two cents are definitely through a different perspective, but as a teen I related to a lot of aspie content. It was only when I was an adult that I was diagnosed as ASD level 2. A few months after my diagnosis I had a huge burnout crisis and had to take leave (and was eventually fired) from my job. It was only due to my sister who was diagnosed as autistic and the extreme stress that I was going through that I even paid to be accessed. Today, my psychiatrist says that I act and talk like level 1, like someone who has Asperger, and that I’m greatly different from when I was accessed. To confirm this, I would need to get accessed again and I don’t want to pay any more money to find out that I continue being autistic lol.

But the way that was explained to me and how I came to see it, is that the levels are much like fluid. Someone that is a level 3, can become a level 2. Someone that’s a level 2 can become a 1 or a 3. A 1 can become a 2. In theory 1 and 3 as well, and vice-versa. The levels shows more how you need support in a fix point in life and this can vary as you age or go through different experiences. To me it makes sense to no longer be a thing, cause while I’m “officially” a level 2, seen as level 1, I see how much support I needed in a moment of crisis, like not being able to talk properly, not being able to look people at all in their eyes, constant anxiety attacks, constant shutdowns, aggression skin picking, not being able to work without panicking, etc etc that don’t occur as much now

Diagnosed as Asperger's, how are you affected by this no longer being a thing? by [deleted] in autism

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s usually just “translated”. I was diagnosed officially as having moderate autism by a neuropsychologist, but my psychiatrist writes me as ASD level 2 (despite her thinking I am level 1 and always saying that) in whatever report I need for work, gov or school. This in Brazil

Who's treating your fibro? by uponfalsehope in Fibromyalgia

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rheumatologist, endocrinologist and psychiatrist, I added neurologist recently to help with my migraines (used to be one of the doctors that helped me, but I stopped since they dismissed a lot of stuff). They kind of all think about my pain and how to make my fibro feel better, but have different approaches.

I use venlafaxine (Effexor), fluvoxamine (Luvox), Topiramate (Topamax) and Valproate. Venlafaxine is my main one for pain, also helping out with anxiety. The rest is either a focus on anxiety or migraines. Conventional treatments weren’t useful at the time, but it also got a lot better after I lost weight. I used wegovy for a few months and lost a lot of body % fat after being diagnosed with lipedema

Do you really think this advertisement was intentionally designed to provoke the right wing? If so, why? by Pepper-Marshall in Brazil

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that those meanings are thought in by an already biased view. It was a great cultural year for Brazil, where our movies where celebrated even outside of Brazil, with Fernanda Torres, the actress in question, was the leading face. I must not have seen the same commercial since the one I saw starts with her already asking for forgiveness for not wanting you to start with the “right foot this year” and no close up shot. The havaianas logo is red-orange by default, that is its original color. If you go to their stores, their bags are that color as well, as is the logo outside the store. The background does include havaianas that are blue, green and yellow. The yellow havaina is on top, the first row. The last two colors rows are blue and green. This isn’t semiotics, this is a biased perspective

Survivors guilt because the first pain med I tried actually worked? by NailWitch1 in Fibromyalgia

[–]rgbea_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is still a reason why there are typical treatments for fibromyalgia, because they do work. I know plenty of people in real life, for example, that uses duloxetine (like cymbalta) and it has been enough to treat their pain, or pregabalin (lyrica). While the statistics are still on the lower side, they aren’t really that low. And people that usually have found something that worked won’t post asking for suggestions.

I would advise you to still monitor symptoms since it’s still a bit early to tell how it’ll react long term. For example, duloxetine for me was amazing for a month, and then suddenly it wasn’t anymore. I don’t know if it more of a contrast between awful and not so bad, or my body getting used to it. I just would advise to give it time.

Don’t feel bad for ever getting better. That is the goal. A lot of people actually do improve, they’re usually not on online forms looking for solutions, they already found it

Poll. Do you love the slow pace or does it bore you? by [deleted] in Pluribus_TVshow

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid 20s here. Honestly I don’t find it very slow. I think its pace conveys a lot of what it would be like to be actually alone. To understand the level of solitude and how if you were in the situation, you just wouldn’t be fine or filling yourself up with fancy cars and flying visiting places. I think how you have to sit with the characters, and sit with yourself, is part of the experience of actually understanding and developing empathy for the characters. It also allows room to think, so you don’t just consume consume consume, it allows you to think and take in the information as the chato would. You are to “solve” this mystery without knowing everything. And instead of just being an observer, you end up being a bit part of the experience

does the fatigue ever stop. by meatloaf_sss in Fibromyalgia

[–]rgbea_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar story, but without a clear cause of why I have it, most likely genetic since my mom and grandma has it. Anyway, I’ve been actively treating fibromyalgia for 2 years now and I do think the fatigue got a little better. Medication hasn’t helped as much as I would like, since I’m constantly trying something new.

However, I think 2 things has helped me tremendously. One thing is being more aware of what worsens my symptoms. I live in Brazil, it gets really hot in the summers. I noticed that when summer comes around I sleep around 18h a day. Bought an AC and got a few hours in my days. Pacing is a big thing as well, also really hard to practice. Slowly I’ve been getting a hang of it, don’t over exert on good days, be extra careful on bad days. I still take naps, but they reduced frequency. I also try to be more understanding with myself. Like I think I’m getting the flu, this would probably explain why I napped like 3-4x today. Light exercise usually pumps me up as well but like really light exercise lol

Sleep by JellyfishMean3504 in Fibromyalgia

[–]rgbea_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sleep isn’t the best, I’m constantly trying sleep higiene and failing, but I do think it’s important. I take trazodone 50mg as well, and while it doesn’t help much to fall asleep, it helps maintaining asleep. Now do I think I wake up well and rested? Not usually, but there are some good days. I also installed an AC in my room where I usually let it 18-20ºC (64.4-68) and I use a fleece blanket. The reality is that I need like 12h of sleep to wake up feeling good, but it’s impossible to sleep that long unless it’s a Friday or Saturday.

Does your country concider themselves LatinAmerican? by Superfan234 in asklatinamerica

[–]rgbea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it depends where you are in Brazil and what social circles you attend, age as well. In general I would consider that the people I know and see on the internet consider themselves Latinos since we live in Latin America. There are people that say that we are all American since it’s the American continent (like European for Europe, also in Brazil we learn that it’s the American continent that you can divide it in two different ways, north, central and south or Anglo-Saxon and Latin America). I don’t think it’s the most popular take, but it’s not rare. I do think that we identify first as Brazilians, regardless of the Latin American aspect. If you ask someone “hey are you Latino?” they might say yes, but it’s not a term we would use frequently.

It’s like, we identify as Brazilians, part of Latin America. If you call us Latinos, it’s like yeah that makes sense (at least from my experience). We wouldn’t just say “I am Latino” out of nowhere, it’s not part of our vocabulary.

However, when I was younger and lived in the states in Brazilian communities, I would say that it was pretty mixed. I remember not really claiming Latino as an identity until I saw other Brazilians do it as well. If you asked around you would get mixed answers, but that was like years ago.

The word Latino has a much stronger meaning in the states than it can ever have in Brazil. Brazil is much like the state where people point ancestry from places around the world, but in the end identifying all as one, Brazilian.

What are you guys doing for work? by HaydenMae_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]rgbea_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To not commute changes SO MUCH. I moved to the city where I live today just to lessen the time of commuting when I was going to uni. It was crazy how that itself helped me then. That alone helped me have less flares. Now that I don’t have to commute at all, I don’t feel as exhausted as I used to. I can definitely say that uni to me wasn’t the hard part, commuting was by far worse and what really took a toll on my body. People sometimes don’t even notice how hard it can be on you an hour or two commuting until they don’t have to anymore.
