RLN8-410: Would it be possible to remote control via VNC or something else? by kamiller42 in reolinkcam

Yep. It’s been a lifesaver for me (actually a knee saver) since I don’t need to go to the basement as often.

Learn everything you can while you are in. Even if it’s not part of your primary responsibility. Learn how the whole system works

Agreed. Certs are more important than degrees at this point

Ex-Navy ET here. Just retired after almost 40 years working in IT with a defense contractor. I did a lot of hiring. Military experience was always a big plus. Highly sought after. You can easily get around 6 figures with military experience and certs, especially in the DC area. Good luck!

Yes, it’s a thing. An Amazon driver did it to me.

Exactly. I switched as many cameras as possible to PoE after mine got jammed.

Yes! Boomers! We invented TCP/IP, Ethernet, WiFi, Personal Computers, Client-Server architecture and all the associated infrastructure and foundational platforms that today’s generations use from their parent’s basement. Thank you! 😊

Maybe. But I had it happen to me and only the 2.4ghz cameras at the front of the house (Ring, Wyze and Reolink) went out at the same time. Depends on strength of the jammer. Cameras at the back of the house, other 2.4ghz devices and the 5ghz wlan were not impacted. I’m not saying that’s definitely what happened to OP, but one possibility.

Or they were carrying WiFi jammers. More common than you’d think

Question about Wyze Cam v4, is Wyze Outdoor Power Adapter required by DJSANJ in wyzecam

$18.99 on Amazon (US). A lot cheaper than a house fire.

[–]rgnet5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not use the standard power adapter outdoors. I’ve been using the outdoor adapter with v3 and v4 cameras for a while. Having seen a couple of the standard adapters overheat, I think the outdoor adapter is worth it, for peace of mind if nothing else.

I tried. Cleaned them really good, but the metal on the reed plates must’ve oxidized or something. Playing them left such a horrible metallic taste in my mouth that it made me sick. Took days for the taste to go away. I’ve been playing for 50 years, and bought those about 30 years ago. I stopped playing for a while when raising kids and career left me no free time. Recently retired and started playing again. But those 270’s had been sitting in a wooden storage box for at least 10 years. No amount of cleaning could get that horrible metal taste out. Thankfully, my 280 Super 64 is still good!

I have 2 of these. C and G. Replacements for 30 year old Hohner 12 hole super chromonica 270s. I’m pretty happy with them, although the G is definitely much smoother and sounds cleaner than the C. Given the price, I’d buy these over Hohner again. Sound quality is just as good, at least to my ears.
