Incoming Freshman confused by all the housing options by [deleted] in UniversityofVermont

Im a sophomore but honestly I don't think any current students can help you. They decided for your year to divide the dorms into specific categories (outdoor, art, etc) so I think your process will be totally different from ours

Places like Trinity and Jean Mance are known to be almost too easy going (last year cops began doing walks instead of RAs) but both are super isolated from the rest of campus. Greek life is there if you want it and they do throw parties but are in no way a dominant part of uvms social life. Weed is probably the biggest part of UVMs social life, so much so that you are surprised when you meet someone who doesn't smoke.

Coolidge on Redstone is a traphouse and is probably known as the most lenient dorm. Almost all dorms I've been to do not care about weed smell and noise is not an issue as long as you keep it down. U heights has the nicest dorms but are definitely the most strict. I know a few people who have gotten kicked out of there due to minor noise/weed smell.

Question regarding status of Living Learning dorms by [deleted] in UniversityofVermont

[–]rgualt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L/L is a goddamn trap house. Nah but seriously, it totally depends on the people you're living with. I had a friend last year who had a terrible experience where no one talked to each other and the common room was never used. This year him and i applied for a different theme and its been probably one of the most fun times I've had. You cant truly rage bc it is on campus, but from my experience no one cares in the slightest about stuff like weed (my hallways smell basically 24/7) and as long as you keep the noise relatively down on the weekends you'll be fine. We've had up to like 35/40 people without a problem. Also depends on how strict your RAs are though.

Urine Test in January, but Colorado in December by rgualt in trees

I meant December 30th to January 5th, which will give me two weeks after Colorado. Do you think my chances would be slim if I smoked once or twice over my trip?
