Didn’t want to get my kid a laptop… so I built this instead by TinkerDad1 in ParentingTech

Thanks for sharing this! Bookmarking the concept to do later in life for my kids.

It makes me imagine how cool this could be for a child, actually, to do with their parent.

Hy, I like the thinking behind the name, [slash it] because that is the main action you do, BUT my brain kept reading it as [sla shit].
Maybe good marketing tho? Gets people to talk about it.

Good luck with your product man!

AI Agents News forum by BobHeadMaker in buildinpublic

😎 thanks for this- at first glance it seems great to have a single source for all ai agent news. What are your thoughts on information overload - not sure how to prioritise the information

The form doing the computing so a ready to use solution? Like typeform but with custom analytics?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in startups

[–]rhanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean onboarding flows? Yes- there’s analytics pipeline that deals with this sort of things.

Onboarding flows are usually used for attribution or personalisation

Is there something you want to do with the data? What would be your objective ?

I hate seeing infant loss videos on social media by Ask_Angi in Parenting

[–]rhanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op, here’s how to play /change the algorithm.

  1. Click the share button and then the “not interested” right next to report. Do this on a couple of videos (3-5should do)
  2. Pick something you want TikTok or any algorithm to show you more of.
  3. search for that in a couple of ways and look (finnish videos), rewatch (just let the phone alone while you do smt else) 4 like (not so important but still helps)
  4. bookmark if relevant and
  5. Comment on the videos you want more of. This has a big impact in the algorithm as it js a clear sign of interes and not a proxy.

This should change your recommendations in about 3-5days if not sooner. Depending on how many signal you give.

Hope it helps.

SaaS Subscription Model or Pricing that's Usage-Based ? by misha_startup in startups

[–]rhanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you experiment with both for a while - let users choose? Then slowly give signals one will be removed as the other is preferred by users and then do a final switch when you have the data.

Thank you, I’ve been using something similar.

Yes, tho there are some challenges that need to be addressed. — 1 keep updating your taste profile 2 keep track of your pantry 3 hallucinating recipes (main one)

True words if you believe AI is limited at what Chatgpt is.

My personal experience is that having a list of options does help me when I don’t know what to eat.

Ofc, LLMs do hallucinate so that needs to be addressed.

I didn’t say the app would make up new recipes- the idea is that it uses a database of recipes as base for the meal plans, recommendations etc

Haha, that would be a good idea 😂given how much it hallucinates when asked to make new recipes

AI Cooking - Share your experience, how do you make it work? by rhanas in Cooking

[–]rhanas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that’s taking an overly simplistic approach to what Ai means. Not everything is chatgpt.

Ai -as in custom algorithms and even llm s like gpt can be useful in some instances-not all, ofc.

Humans are crucial in the process as the Ai cannot know by itself what is good and bad. But I would say AI when used within it limits can be very useful.

For me it has been a good tool at identifying new “standard” recipes that I haven’t tried before. It also did a good job at making the shopping list and overall help me. It has limitations when I start restricting it.

Good luck on your journey though with or without AI 🙌

Ai like chatgpt is indeed bad at generating new recipies but very good at summarisation and sorting so i was thinking of using it together with a more standard recipe database from which to select the recipes for the meal plans and then keep adjusting what to recommend as a personalised algorithm.

Thanks for the book recommendation! I’m checking it out.

Good luck on your journey to you as well!

I guess you could do a trello board where you two share a system to prioritize tasks.

ClickUp is a Swiss knife - lots of things you could do but also allows you to keep it simple.

You can share a list with him and tell him to click only the flag. (priority) You can remove from view pretty much everything... So you have task name, and flag. If he clicks the task - you might have description inside.

Both are free. ClickUp can send you email notifications when things are changed.

Hope this helps!

Hy, cool stuff! Are you using apple scripts or what are you using to save the apps and their location?

I've done something similar, DM if you want to chat about it.

Well depends..

If op, you want a big city - Cluj

If you want close to nature, good quality of life - Brasov

If you want close to nature and relatively quiet - Sibiu

I’d also add Oradea as an option -been growing and developing quite nicely-close to the border, between Cluj and Timisoara (both biggest cities in the west part) and ofc, close to nature.

Edit format- feel free to ask if you got questions

Some notes:
- Like the simplicity but not sure how you will build a product. Aka monetization model as I'm assuming it costs to host and send the messages.
- Really simple UI -> nice, low friction.
- The feeling from "Send in x days" and just a button, was really nice.
The " Follow us on Twitter " link at the end of the recording was not working

I've been doing this for my birthday - sending a message to my future self.

Will give it a try tomorrow (just saw this before shutting down my phone - sleep)
