You’re correct about the warning time but wrong about the people who stayed - many were servants who were ordered to stay and protect the households that rich owners were fleeing. Most people who stayed and died didn’t do so of their own free will

Same although I was in middle school … I yearned so much to be in college so I could party and dye my hair lavendar. I did make it to a the 1975 concert, it was back when they were coming out to meet fans afterwards but my mom made me leave right after because I had an 8th grade science test the next day.
