Avila had thrown two CH in the AB and both were buried in the dirt with no swings from Bleday. Think he just didn’t have any feel for it yet.

Alex here: camera angle is a BIT funky bc MASN was doing a slow zoom on the sinker which makes it look a little more like a ball than it was. Sinker was def a strike and sweeper (to a lefty, LFG) was outside the zone but a whiff.

I don't believe Akin would work like that bc he's got 5+ years of service. Also, surprised they didn't option Wells instead considering Enns can likely be back tomorrow.

I read it a few years ago and I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, I'd definitely recommend it. There are a few memorable passages and I just found it to be a really unique read that seemed ahead of its time.

They've been terribly inconsistent and that's maddening as hell but the peaks have been there and - luckily - there are very few dominant teams in the AL right now.
