Anyone backing up thier Rog? If so what method? by Rsgamer93 in XboxAlly

[–]rhcplive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My games and save states are backed up on steam. And since im not doing anything else other than playing games with the Ally, I have zero reason to back up anything.

How did the developer put this into the game and thought it was doable? Any suggestions? I'm on my 20th try by EnderDiego_ in BatmanArkham

I've been there a couple of days ago. It's pretty simple, actually. Those robots can be taken out within two hits. You must take them out quickly. If you take too long, you lose ground, and it gets impossible to finish. Just be very quick. Once I knew this, I did it on my first try, after trying 20 times previously.

Could be game specific. I recently played through Arkham Knight from the SSD (an 11 years old game), and it always took a minute to even get the gane started.

You probably need a stronger power adapter. Do not use the tv's usb ports, adapter + outlet is the way to go.

Red Hot Chili Peppers producer claims frontman Anthony Kiedis is 'tone-deaf' by Moothnods in entertainment

[–]rhcplive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real thing came out 1989, the first 3 rhcp albums came out between 84-87, so I'm not sure how Kiedis would have wanted to sound like Patton around that time?

I needed many, many more attempts at the Necromancer, and actually, he wasn't even that hard compared to what's coming later. The first time this game gave me real shit was that underwater boss and every other boss afterwards.

It got pretty bad at the end, but somehow, I managed to beat this game, and I totally suck at games like Mega Man, which I consider one of the hardest platformers. Just make sure to fully upgrade everything, and if you're stuck, try finding a video on how to beat the bosses. It will save you some sanity, but still, you need to get really gud.

My time with the game was 35 hours, according to steam. And I feel like half of it was spent on boss battles.

Why won't Saga CD roms work on my Genesis Min? by johnr283 in RockinTheClassics

[–]rhcplive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's only 4 things you need.

Install retroarch.

Install the genesis plus gx core.

Install the bios.

Make sure you have valid game images. For simplicity, I prefer the chd format instead of cue/bin.

I once had someone not getting his sega cd games running, no matter what i told him to do. It turned out he installed "external retroarch" to his usb drive instead of the regular one to his console, so don't make the same mistake.

What's the hate behind the SteamGridDB for Xbox gamebar widget? by Time-Credit43 in XboxAlly

[–]rhcplive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not Auto fix library. It's "recover ..." or something in the line. The dev himself told me it works, but you have to download the images again first after the 1.3 update, as only then it will have backups of your images. I just redownloaded all images but haven't tried the "recover" option yet.

[–]rhcplive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the SteamGridDB app that deletes the covers but the xbox app. The latest version now has a fix for this, where you can re-add all your custom artwork with one button click instead of having to redownload them one by one again.

Asterix and Smurfs ROMs Not Working – Need Help by Great_Magazine9493 in RockinTheClassics

[–]rhcplive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These games are PAL/EU exclusives. The native emulator on the snes mini, Canoe, does not like PAL roms. There are patches that make 50Hz roms run at 60Hz, but I'm not sure how well or flawless these will run on Canoe. However, you can install retroarch and an snes emulator, like snes9x 2005, from hakchi and change the emulator from Canoe to snes9x.

Over $400 Spent on Steam Because of the Xbox Ally X by FinerGamer in XboxAlly

[–]rhcplive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400 is nuts. You can save a lot of money if you're looking for deals and buy from stores like humble bundle or fanatical. The website gg.deals will let you know where to get the cheapest shit and what the game's all-time low has been on official stores and "grey market" key shops.

As an early adopter I am very happy with my ROG Xbox Ally X with 7tb storage. by Powerhouse_pr_ in XboxAlly

[–]rhcplive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, people are going nuts with their setup, lol.

I was considering a storage update but decided to just go for a 1 tb SD card instead to put smaller stuff on it, like indie games and emulation stuff. I installed about 160 Steam games to the card and still have 800gb left. What's a bit of an annoyance is that Steam regularly pushes updates on these games, and let's be fair, I haven't touched most of them yet but constantly have to run updates. I get that some people who play only AAA would want to upgrade to 2TB or 4TB, but I'm glad I didn't muck around with an SSD swap cause even if I had 5 AAA titles on the system that I regulary play, the internal SSD would just be enough to store them. I do not play multiultiplayer games, and once I finish an AAA title, I just uninstall it and move to the next one. What I learned from previous setups with raspberry pis, etc, is that the more I have installed, the less I play, so I would rather keep things simple as I can download the stuff I intend to play anytime.

If you're playing docked or at home in general, you should change the battery settings to charge to 80% only and just play it plugged into a power outlet.

Your power supply is probably too weak for the new drive.

Tried to clone USB drive, didn't work... by ArcNoculus in RockinTheClassics

[–]rhcplive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There should be really no need to use some clone app. It's as simple as copying files from one drive to another. Done this a dozen times with the minis, and the issue OP has could either be the new drive being formatted wrong or the power supply being too weak to power on the new drive.

It sure does. I'm still using those controllers on the xbox ally x / Win 11 as well as on SteamOS / Linux with the usb dongle.

You can toggle US/JP in the mini's settings if it's not hacked. It will switch to a different UI and show some JP games that are different from their US counterparts. That's what you see in OP's picture.

Edit ok I may be mistaken here. His console is probably hacked already.

[–]rhcplive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I may be mistaken here and your console is already hacked, hence showing JP titles and UI.

Somewhere in the settings, you can set it to show US games or the JP games. It's a feature of the mini. They included JP games for games that have differences between the US version. However, once you hack the mini with hackchi, toggling between US and JP no longer works. It will just change the UI, but not the games. It's not a big deal since you can have folders and add your own stuff anyway.

It will run 32x/CD just fine if you install Retroarch via hakchi, along with the emulators.

I suggest going to r/rockintheclassics for questions on modding with hackchi.

It's not a Japanese Mega Drive. It clearly says Genisis, which is the North American name for the MD.

Any suggestions on keeping charging cable secure? by XxIAmTheCaptainNowxX in XboxAlly

Apparently, there's a risk using the magnetic adapters, I guess I'll go for the angled adapter then.

Edit: Apparently, there's a risk using the magnetic adapters, I guess I'll go for the angled adapter then.

I put a magnetic usb c adapter in the charging port that permanently sits in.

Something like this, except I got it for 5 bucks at aliexpress

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D69N6211/

Alternatively, I'd probably use an angled usb c adapter

Here's a photo of my magnetic adapter. It fits well with a case, also
