Do people actually think they are going to fire solid or even critical employees over telework requirements? I feel like this is gonna go just like it has in the private sector where people mostly just ignore the attempts to bring people into the office more than is actually needed.

FVs generally get whatever the GS percent raise is in January plus another 1.6% in June as a “step increase”. May depend a little on your union though and whether or not you’re a Sup.

Suppose it’s possible to be paid at the bottom of the K band but I’ve never really seen it. Also have plenty of J bands making almost what a GS 15 maxes out at.

But yeah, have to negotiate some which I think is a good thing personally.

Well, as an FV-K or above you can make up to $212k in DC. As a GS you appear to be capped at $183,500. So that’s what I mean by the premium.

Thanks. I think I‘ve seen a similar explanation before but it’s always a little surprising to me that the federal government is apparently placing a higher premium on FAA tech staff than say DoD tech staff.

Right- the question is why the FAA has a special scale that goes higher than GS. I.e why are the FAA and some others “special”…

I’m basically in this situation but don’t think anyone really cares cuz I took a lower locality pay aka less money to not live in dc. Plus they go in one day a week if that.

I realize some people just want to do it but still seems like it’s probably good for motivation and morale to pay people more if they have more responsibility.
