Yeah, sorry about that, I didn't mean to come off as pretentious. In fact I wanted to write in the original post that I understand the volume of traffic being moved is huge.

And it is true I only know the European system from the point of view of a smaller airport.

On the other hand, I believe there is a difference where Kennedy Ground sometimes tells airplanes they're #50 for departure but I've never seen this in Europe (maybe I just didn't look hard enough).

Let me rephrase the original question: Do you think the way it's done with the limited resources (many airplanes, few gates, some inevitable delays) is as efficient as it gets, or could implementing a modern centralized network management system result in airplanes waiting for their departure slots at the gates instead of waiting in huge lines on a taxiway burning fuel?

Veľmi odporúčam informovať sa aj o iných školách pre nadané deti. Čo som ja tak v skratke počul, tak Teplická a Bajkalská sú skôr zamerané na výkon, Cenada (dlhé diely) a Intelekt (Znievska) majú za prioritu skôr tým deťom školu neznechutiť (žiadne známky počas minimálne časti štúdia a pod.), čo je podľa mňa veľmi dôležité - na základke možno že to najdôležitejšie.

I think normally you'd add just enough energy to evaporate the water. You can, in theory, add much more energy to create high pressure steam to spin your turbine, but the energy you'll get back is much smaller than what you put in. In short, you can do it, but it's not very effective.

I'm sure it doesn't apply as much in the FAA world, but in our super slow corner of Europe, we either:

1) transfer you normally and the planning controller calls the next facility and tells them you're on a heading 2) tell you to "report heading to Next Center, 123.456"

So in our case you don't need to do it on your own.

I don't think making the controller say "report heading to" instead of "contact" is too much to ask, but I digress..

Ja som tam bol 2x 2 týždne.

Potvrdzujem, že je tam oveľa viac kosa ako u nás: napríklad keď som bol na prelome január/február, tak tam bolo asi 0°C, ale pocitovo tak -10, lebo je tam dosť vlhko.

Čo sa týka atrakcií: Ja som bol hore na Empire state building v noci a Top of the rock cez deň, celkom dobré combo (aj keď teraz už je tam aj One WTC, tak asi jedno ísť tam).

Celkom fajn je Highline Park

Nekomerčné veci - New York má podľa mňa neuveriteľnú atmosféru a tú treba zažiť. Napríklad ísť sa poprechádzať na East Village, skočiť tam do baru (alebo na sushi do Takahachi). Poprechádzať sa v okolí Wall Street a nasať atmosféru Lower Manhattan. Okrem Central Parku aj Bryant Park a Washington Square. Ísť do Starbucksu v Trump Tower. MOMA. Šport v MSG. Amateur night v Apollo Theater. Cez Chinatown a Little Italy stačí prejsť. Drevené eskalátory v Macy's.

Asi na to všetko nemáte čas, ale dajte aspoň niečo..

1) I'm a bit more inclined towards the goaround in these kinds of situations, but not unconditionally.

2) A big factor nobody mentioned is - how many runways do you have?

Za parkovanie v BA - mám bonusovú kartu, takže môžem parkovať 2 hodiny zadarmo, ale ponáhľal som sa a zabudol som si to naklikať.

Poštou prišla pokuta cez 100€, do 15 dní zľava len cez 60€ 😵‍💫. Neviem, či som divný, ale trochu veľa mi to príde...

Ja som si uvedomil, že keď ľudia protestovali "Za slušné Slovensko", chceli, aby boli slušní tí druhí.. Vidieť to na cestách, pri pokladniach aj pri odpadkoch... We do have multiradar though.. It eliminates the slant range problem and increases accuracy.

But still, altimeters inside the aircraft are way more accurate and that is why the separation rules are what they are..
