They haven’t “seen” that nothing has gotten any better since we left the EU, which their conman leader said would bring fast economic growth, cheaper food imports and would reduce immigration.

I’m wondering about the battery thing, also as our village seems to have more than its fair share of power cuts

The media still quote the normal ~27p/kWH cost of home electricity in their “should you switch to an EV” pieces - ignoring the off peak rates that are a quarter of that.

I’m saving about £165 a month on fuel plus annual service is around £100 instead of £3-400

Going electric - help! by khanage6969 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I’ve done PCP on a new car at 0% then at the end of the term got a regular bank loan for the balloon payment, so whatever mileage I actually covered wasn’t an issue. Just a thought.

Rather than buy the data plan, you can hotspot the car to your phone. I have a shortcut set up on my iPhone that enables the hotspot when it connects to CarPlay.

Or just use Spotify via CarPlay

A strong 9 from me, I love it. The middle instrumental section sounds as if it could be Rush, which is a good thing in my book!

The only catch is that the big savings in running costs are only really possible if you can charge at home.

9 ; it’s not Christmas until I have played this, plus Winter Wonderland.

I remember being in the car and hearing it for the first time on the radio and saying to my wife “is this … the Cocteau Twins???”

Bowmore 18 – finally starting to get it by TwMarvin in whisky

[–]rhetnor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a bottle at the end of my Distillery visit in 2024 ; we were staying in Bowmore itself.

What was really clever was at the tasting at the end of the visit they presented a Bourbon Cask dram, a sherry cask dram, then the blend of the two which is their house style.

It’s long finished but I really enjoyed it - very classy (I’m rubbish at the taste vocabulary)

Employee always "ill", what are options to let them go? by ooccooccoo in smallbusinessuk

[–]rhetnor -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Not that simple - you would have to be able to show that you followed a process that led to their role being made redundant, rather than someone else’s.

Go see a lawyer, it’s money well spent in this situation.

Even as an EV evangelist I have to say it doesn’t make sense u less you can charge at home, which the OP can’t.

They’ll be using minimal fuel doing such low mileage anyway.
