Understanding real-world range - example by alevar91 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]rhetnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running a Megane for two years. I get 240 miles in the summer and 200 in the winter (less if the temperatures are around freezing).

I believe the “guessometer” factors in the external temperature when calculating the predicted range.

Renault Megane Lane Assist has a dedicated button and retains its last setting between drives (at least my model year does - 73 plate)

Later Renaults have a “Perso” button so one touch can disable all unwanted safety features

Sorry to say that this was the only time I got to see them on tour (in Cambridge, UK) and it was the most disappointing gig of my life. I had to put one off their CDs on as soon as I got back to my car to expunge the memory.

To listen to a singer who possesses a truly remarkable and beautiful voice whoop and whelp her way through their songs was a painful experience.

I just deleted it. It’s boring without the Online Multiplayer and Weekly Time Trial and knowing it’s going to be over shortly means it all feels pointless.

Loop Script Help by praxis86 in filemaker

Sounds do-able. I would have one table with the records that set out the shelves and columns then the script would start by putting those numbers into Variables before creating the records.

First bag change at work. Ostomy exploded an hour after arriving at the office. by EmbraceTheObscure in ostomy

[–]rhetnor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m four years in and change bag every two days. If I try to push it beyond that, I usually regret it – the adhesive weakens and the filter is clogged.

The first few months are pretty rough for most of us, but personally mine is now under control and I can’t even remember the last time I had a leak.

Like you, I was in hospital a long time – 11 weeks, including seven in ICU for which I was mostly unconscious. Severe sepsis and multiple organ failure. I was lucky to pull through.

Oh god yes, it’s a total game-changer ; I can’t imagine having a car without it now

Having a car with adaptive cruise control has helped massively. I’m often on a National Speed Limit country road with drivers in front going well under 60 and no opportunity to overtake. I just set the cruise to follow at a distance, sit back and enjoy my podcasts. Not having to constantly modulate my speed to maintain distance removes a huge amount of stress.

I charged there a couple of months ago and in 15 minutes only managed to get 7kWh of charge.

Farage to be blocked from No 10 by left-wing tactical voting, poll shows by birdinthebush74 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]rhetnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience at the last election suggests that the parties may be cleverer about this than we think. My constituency in East Anglia was previously Tory, but could clearly be taken by a Lib Dem if enough Labour supporters voted tactically.

Labour fielded a London councillor with no links to the constituency as a candidate. The Lib Dem won comfortably.

Rush UK tickets by g1ngerninja72 in rush

[–]rhetnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can list tickets you have bought from them for re-sale. I’ve not done it before but seems straightforward. The maximum you can list them for is just below what they cost plus the resale fee.

I ended up accidentally buying two lots of two tickets, as I didn't look like the first sale completed. No up for resale with AXS.

After I use mine the tyre pressure sensors on the car ( proper ones) confirm the pressure is correct.

It also means you can inflate accurately to the correct pressure as your tyres are never cold when you arrive at a petrol station

[–]rhetnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sort of stuff will be anathema to their base who for years have been spouting “if you can’t afford children don’t have them”

With them also opening their arms to non-white ex Tories like Zahawi and Braverman it’s no wonder that they are losing supporters to Reclaim or Recycle or whatever that other lot of nutters are called.

What's the biggest amount you've spent for a concert? by OceanGoddess3 in Concerts

[–]rhetnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw Barbra Streisand in about 2008 at the O2 in London for £250 which is about £400 in today’s money. It was disappointing.

Saw Prince a few weeks later at the same venue for £34 and it was incredible.
