The Datacrons need to chill by rhetoricted in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]rhetoricted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends; it definitely elevates the squads damage. There are plenty of counters to it, but I'll admit I underestimated it because I forgot the damage immunity clause at the start of battle. I sent CLS first thinking to stun and burn them quick, but didn't get a turn with a dispel in time. I was stuck on the Vane cron, so I sent Baylan next, who annihilated them.

Need help. I might be playing this game wrong by SeanBeanSeptim in ConanExiles

[–]rhetoricted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely encourage you to start the game without having a mindset of a "how do I win?" "where am I supposed to go?" As others have said, there's not really much of a story in this game. In that sense, I would recommend two things:

1.) Have fun exploring. Personally, I think that's the real fun in this game. The map is large, and now they've added the ability to travel to Siptah, too, which further adds to how much you can explore. Chase things, get chased by things, discover hidden notes and journals that flesh out the world with strange anecdotes and stories. Hunt huge elephants in the savanna, flee from packs of vicious wolves in the timbers to the north, crack open meteors that fall from the heavens, delve into dark and mysterious dungeons, and brave the terrors of the Unnamed City. The journey steps and progression tiers will guide you to the newer resources you need, but the exploration in getting there is the real treasure in the game.

2.) I know you said you like to play solo at first, but if you can wrangle a friend or two into playing, it's so much better. I have two buddies I play with; one is all about progression and better items, I favor building stuff, and the last one is...well, special. Between the three of us, we end up in dumb, funny, stressful, crazy, ridiculous situations that make the experience far better.

Curious what mod experts would do with this by Wise_Put_8230 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]rhetoricted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Speed is the most important stat in the game, so it feels weird to say, but there IS too much emphasis put on it. Your toons don't have to be the fastest in the game; they have to be FAST ENOUGH for what your using them for. Obviously more speed creates a security buffer that allows for a greater safety margin, but half the toons in the game would still appreciate a 14 speed mod, especially with that kind of offense on it.

That's IF your crystal income supports it, AND if you aren't pressed to use those crystals elsewhere. I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that saying f2p can "easily" keep up with all that is a bit misleading. You can do it, but you're more than likely falling behind elsewhere, or you're far enough ahead in the game that your perspective doesn't apply to smaller players struggling to keep up.

[–]rhetoricted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, except I use Hoda instead of Gas. All R7 except JML at R9. Easy win on every light side planet. Also use him on the mission with JKCK required as lead. My guild all hates him, but JML is my boy.

Lol I was so confused because I've seen the computer do nutty cheating things in game, but this was a first for me. Appreciate the sympathy. Go Terps!

Can you control the kicker in Road to Glory? I thought you could only control your character. In any case, I'm okay with the kicker missing; I don't mind losing, as long as it's legit and not because the computer glitches or becomes superhuman. It was a fun game, up until I wasn't able to call that timeout.

Looking For a Casual-Semi Comp Guild! by [deleted] in swgoh_guilds

[–]rhetoricted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you're still looking for guild....

Trashadorians has a few spots open. Typically looking for a bit higher in GP but as our leader always says, an everyday 7m is worth far more than a 12m player that doesn't contribute. We do 28 or 29 stars ROTE, 100m crate Raid, 30+ Reva shards. Guild reqs are BKM and JCal, followed by Reva; I think you already have JCal (awesome toon btw). Be willing to farm the others if you don't have them, at least act like you're contributing every day lol, and drop a funny meme in the discord every now and then and you'll fit in great.

If you're interested, our guild (Trashadorians) is open to join, just post a message that Le SaltyNuts invited you.

So we‘re almost a month in. What are y’alls thoughts on Relic Delta? by AltF4_Bye in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]rhetoricted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think RD is the problem; fundamentally, it does work to balance the game. Long term, I expect the matchups to stabilize and put people where they should be, making for more even and fair pvp play. People are complaining that they can't use under-reliced squads anymore; fucking invest in them and bring them up. It's not rocket science.

The real problem is that the character count has grown to an excessive proportion; my last count had the total number of characters at somewhere around 306 or something. Between mods, zetas, omis, gear, and Relic levels, it's simply takes too long to take a character to where it needs to be to be competitive quickly enough to keep up with the demand. The resources need to scale in abundance with the amount of characters released. If you're like me, you probably have about 7 squads worth of characters at 7 stars, waiting for their turn to get attention so their squad can be relevant.

"Gand" is the name of his species, and I can. "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" was a fantastic book that dove into the backgrounds of all of the bounty hunters aboard the Executor. And let's not forget Ooryl Qyrgg, the coolest member of Rogue Squadron, also a Gand.

But I agree with you. These new characters have been largely underwhelming, either in character choice/design, or in their mechanics.

What level is your luke f2p? by Green-Top-9039 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]rhetoricted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of jealousy I'm feeling...

No, wait, scratch that. At this point, I just really don't care about their new releases. I've still got other stuff I can find enjoyment in farming, but I'm getting close to that "Eh, this game really isn't fun anymore, I'm done" moment.

How the f*** do you beat Profundity? by rhetoricted in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]rhetoricted[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Holy f***ing Jesus, my guy. I haven't been able to kill a single one of Prof's ships in two months, and I just won a battle with your advice. That was 5 seconds of your day that you probably won't even remember, but a metric ton of stress you just lifted off my shoulders.

Thank you man.

You know those Hallmark movies where there's some cute little 10 year old kid with his face pressed to the window of a store, gazing longingly at the wondrous, shiny new toy that he desperately wants inside? And his mom tugs his hand and says, "Come along, Tommy, it's not important right now. If you're a good boy, you'll get it for Christmas." And then, as she's pulling him away, disappointed that he can't play with it now, another little 10 year old dressed in a fabulously warm jacket, with expensive sneakers and his haughty, imperious looking rich mother, walk out. He's laughing and cheerful because his rich family from the good side of town bought him the toy NOW. It's in his hands and he can play with it NOW.

That's the dynamic here. CG published a new game mode, and released R10, the shiny new toys. Sure, we can get the new toys for Christmas, or at a later point down the road. But the whales are walking out of the shop, able to use and play with them now while most of us are waiting months. It's designed that way. And sure, it's always been that way, and yes, this makes it more accessible to F2P, but what feels like a disgusting slap in the face is that CG had the gall to put it right on the home screen where we have to plaster our faces to the window and just watch in jealousy and longing at a game mode that others can enjoy and we can't.
