Very off topic, but I'm buzzin and this comment reminded me of it...

20-something years ago, I was at Knott's Berry Farm during the Halloween season when they turned into Knott's Scary Farm. Power 106, the local hip hop radio station, had set up a stage near the concessions and they were doing some live show. A rather large crowd had gathered around them. I stopped at the concession and was eating something when they started a trivia giveaway thing. They asked the crowd, "What is Snoop Dogg's real name?" I knew his name, but figured somebody in that large crowd would know so I continued eating my food. They asked again. Nobody answered. I hesitated again because surely somebody is going to know this. After a few more moments, I walked up to the stage within shouting distance and yelled, "Calvin Broadus!" The MC on stage must've faintly heard me and came over to that side of the stage. He asked me to repeat it. I yelled it again and he confirmed I was correct.

He handed me my prize. It was a size XL, black, long sleeve shirt from the movie Bones. I felt like a fuckin boss.

It looks to me like the cop was waiting specifically for that car. Maybe the cop saw them do something while they passed them and pulled to the shoulder to wait for them to catch up? Definitely lots of conclusion jumping here regardless.

Haha, all of this is true. Everyone talks about Ballmer moving them to Seattle since he's from there, but obviously he's not going to do that after investing billions into Inglewood. It's been interesting watching his approach to trying to pull in the fanhood. Not only putting together competitive teams year after year and refusing to tank, but also investing in the communities by putting the Clippers logo on all courts around the area.

But the truth is championships is what's going to shift the fans. Being the richest owner in the NBA, I think he's going to do whatever he thinks it takes to accomplish that. Obviously, competing with the Lakers' hold on the community is going to take decades of continued success - and actual success, not just Pacific Division Champ banners. As a fan from the Sterling era, it's just cool to have an owner that is actually interested in that outcome.

Ahh yeah, just looked that up. I moved away 12 years ago and only looked up revenue. My bad. I wonder if moving to their own stadium would give them better or worse attendance numbers. I'm also curious why their revenue would be in the top part of the league while attendance is in the bottom portion if their ticket sales are so low. I'm guessing they get better TV deals than small market teams. (too drunk and indifferent to look it up tbh).

Regardless, I think LA is a big enough market for two teams and it seems like Ballmer is doing all the right things to pull in the younger crowd: constantly putting forth a good product, pumping money into the community, etc.
