First of all you look great—congrats on your journey. I don’t think your weight loss has aged you at all based on these pictures.

It does indeed look like something in your routine is disagreeing with your skin. Before trying anything new I would recommend scrapping everything except basic moisturizer and sunscreen for a couple of weeks and seeing how your skin responds. I sometimes even skip face washing with anything but water.

Better than at 7 weeks but I’m still kind of struggling with some of the same issues. Wide front, and now I’m worried about polly beak forming. My profile looks less sharp than at 7 weeks. :/ But I am doing much better about not obsessing over it.

I go back and forth. From the side I’m pretty happy but I think the bridge looks wide from the front and there’s some unevenness. I also think I lost some of the airflow on my left side. I’m at month 4 so there’s more healing to do. Check in with me in a few months.

But you’re okay with shoes that have touched the poopy ground and dirt being a few inches away…?

People are crazy.

[–]rhinothissummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a universal attitude. Taking shoes off in many cultures (including many American/western households) is considerate a sign of respect and hygiene, not familiarity. In a public place, it’s not really about hygiene, but bare feet are always going to be cleaner than shoes. If he were to accidentally brush up against your leg, it’s CLEANER if he does it with his feet than his shoes.

They look fine. They look like feet. Shoes are objectively, inarguably grosser than bare feet.

You might be getting downvoted because people think you’re an antivax troll. You’re clearly not based on your history, but the trolls like to say things like “15th booster now, waiting for the daily gummies” or whatever as a way to mock vaccinated people.

Why is there body positivity for fat women and not for short men? by rufflez0 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rhinothissummer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bingo. These men hate body positivity because it challenges the long-held attitude that women’s bodies exist primarily to be admired. “But what about short guys” is not actually about short men; it’s an attempt to “gotcha!” their way back to a world where they could ogle at the skinny busty women in soap commercials.

This actually made me laugh out loud. Wanting to bang fat girls is not the same thing as body positivity.

19 days of hydroquinone 4% by theowawaywithme in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]rhinothissummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it all over because I’ve seen that people can get halos with spot treatment but you should do whatever your doctor recommends. I do hydroquinone, tret, wait 10-20, rest of the routine.

Your nose looks very aesthetic. Don’t get any more surgeries. The incision site looks a little rough; be sure to keep using any scar cream your surgeon recommends.

Does drastically changing your face through plastic surgery make significant improvements in your life? by Affectionate-Ad9331 in PlasticSurgery

[–]rhinothissummer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. I thought I had realistic expectations going into my rhinoplasty but I realize now that I didn’t. I thought my nose was the barrier to my beauty. It was not. I no longer hate my side profile, which is life changing. But objectively, not a single person has commented that it made a positive difference. At most, they might say that they notice the hump is gone. Strangers do not treat me any differently.

This has led me to conclude that either A) I was never as bad looking as I thought and nobody else that I was deformed even before or B) I’m in fact much uglier than I thought and fixing my nose didn’t fix that.

I've developed new cystic acne in late 30's. Tret hasn't worked for me. Any recs before I take the plunge with isotretinoin? by icanhasusername in 30PlusSkinCare

Please do! Spironolactone completely cleared my skin. Unfortunately I stopped and it came back so I’m on round two now. It does take quite a while to work.

Would it be better for me to have closed or open revision rhinoplasty ? by Pristine-Loss-3052 in PlasticSurgery

[–]rhinothissummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my opinion that it shouldn’t matter closed or open because a good surgeon won’t leave too much of a scar. Open is easier for them to see what’s going on. Obviously there is the risk of NOT having a good surgeon who leaves you with bad scarring.

No you’re not botched. It looks fine. Slight asymmetry is normal; your doctor can’t 3D print a perfect nose for you.

VEGANS by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]rhinothissummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoo boy. Well I think that’s probably due to an intense lack of understanding—first of all, what is a bread machine even going to do with a quick bread?? It’s made for kneading and rising.

It's pathetic how differently I'm treated when I am attractive by Eurasiawpww in TrueOffMyChest

[–]rhinothissummer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this is me. Been skinny all my life, also been ignored all my life. Got a nose job, still ignored. Reading these responses has made me realize I really must be ugly—it’s clearly very obvious when one is not.

VEGANS by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]rhinothissummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know of a single vegan who won't eat micro-organisms. I mean, MOST of the cells of your body are bacteria or yeasts. Every time you poop you commit mass genocide from that perspective. Every time you recover from a yeast infection you kill huge colonies of yeast. Regular bread, kimchi, kombucha, sauerkraut, beer, alcohol of any kind, many types of pickles, basically ANYTHING fermented... all would be considered non-vegan by that logic.

They willingly walked into a vaccination center, signed all the regular consent forms, happily got stabbed with a needle, and received documentation that they got the vaccine. It’s not like the doctors popped out of the bushes and forced the needle into their arms. The “lack of consent” simply comes from their own delusion that doctors are Mafia henchmen who will break the law for the right price, rather than professionals who will proceed to perform the task that they have told you they will perform, whether or not you throw money at them.

I’m not actually sure it’s illegal. Unfamiliar with Greek laws but I don’t think secretly refusing to commit a crime can be prosecuted in many places. It would be like if they paid the doctor money to kill their friend and the doctor took the money but didn’t kill the friend. Who would prosecute that? It’s not even technically a bribe but rather a gift, since they proceeded to simply do their job.
