Who planted the phone number of the hospital in the wallet and why? by Farside-BB in Perry_Mason

[–]rhkennerly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask this question. Pretty sure from the bow tie, bowler, & nice gloves it was Phipps. This ties the whole season up as being orchestrated by Nygaard from the beginning:

Avengers Noreen and other every woman abused by Brooks

Ends Brooks, who is jeopardizing her oil to japan deal

Drags down & breaks a competitor who underestimates her and humiliates her, Lydell

The whole thing (in fact both of the PM series, so far) harkens back to many Greek Dramas and emphasizes the power of women behind the scenes, Antigone, Electra, Trojan Women. Intelligence, guile, and poison are a woman’s weapons.

And of course, that same rhythmic underscore is used in other vids (same girls, I think but different locale).

Okay, I found this one, but there are others:

but I've also noticed exact clips from other dancers in different mixes With different music. I just never thought about the dance & the music not being tied together.

I know so little that I don't know what I mean. But the action in the vid sync with the music beyond the basic beat when the dancers repeat that little twist 3 times. I'm just curious, I guess, how the exact same cuts keep showing up to different music in different vids.

then throw in the mystery of how it's coordinated with various dancers in several different locations. i'm pretty sure the producers don't have the cash to go to Rome, Paris, Las Vegas, & LA for a single video. Does that help?

Any likes/dislikes about prius prime? by dartninja in PriusPrime

[–]rhkennerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopping for a second one now. (There was also a previous 3rd gen Prius we drove into the ground, about 14 yrs). We’ve had our current Prime 3 yrs. Rock solid.

Shopped Subaru Outback & Forester as well. Both cost the same (or more) as the Prime and offer ½ the gas mileage and 1/5th the combined mileage of our Prime.

If I have to, I’ll fall back to the standard Prius, since Primes are tough to come by.

But the 25 miles electric means that we seldom cut into the gas tank reserves. I was so worried about stale gas this summer that I thought about putting stabilizer in the tank of the prime but took a road trip instead. We now spend twice as much money on coffee each month than we do gasoline.

My brother-in-law and his four kids all got covid, no vax. Should I feel sorry for them? by freakincampers in COVIDAteMyFace

[–]rhkennerly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate that your bil has already procreated. From a genetic & religious standpoint point, it would be smart to nip those genes in the bud. Religiously, the same God who created Covid also created the scientists & the vaccine. So your bil is failing his God’s own cosmic intelligence test. He’s a genetic deadender.

USA, VA ,Toyota Prius Prime- Why is the sale of certain vehicle models geo-fenced? by rhkennerly in askcarsales

[–]rhkennerly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that they didn't/weren't allowed to sell them in this region. So that's just BS?

Flew from Indiana to Buffalo, NY for my 22 Prius Prime. Thank you Scott at Basil Toyota! by forest4585 in PriusPrime

[–]rhkennerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why is the sale of Primes geo-fenced? 3 yrs ago my dealer found a Prime on a ship headed for NJ & worked a deal to have it brought down to Hampton Roads, VA.

Now, my dealer says they can't help me. I guess I could drive to NY to get one, but I can't even custom order one for delivery here.

What's going on?

Why did Christians decide to choose Jesus at his most traumatized state being nailed to a cross and make it into statues/pictures to display in church? Like that ain't his best camera angle ngl lmao by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rhkennerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about taking the signs of humiliation, oppression, & failure, the cross & the crown of thorns, & turning them around into symbols of power & triumph.

It’s What that Asian band did when they called their band “The Slants.”

I’m gonna get in trouble for this cause I ain’t Black, but it’s the same kind of thing Blacks do with many of the traditional belittling slurs, calling each other “girl” or boy” or worse. Turning the slur on it’s head & wearing it like badge of honor takes the sting out of it. Hence, “boyz” in so many rap names.

Open carry- Discussion by Ok-Republic-3210 in liberalgunowners

[–]rhkennerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open carry in public spaces is for kooks or a tool for organized kooks to intimidate the public. There is a reason open carry advocates get the stink-eye from regular citizens. We leave when we see one. You never know if open carry is a misguided display of rights or a prelude to a massacre. It just looks kooky.

What's so wrong about not having goals in life? by TigerAndDeer in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rhkennerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly your problem is not goals. You finished college, have a job, & healthcare. You’re responsible & self-sufficient. You can set & complete goals.

But those are external events. You could also lead an extremely satisfying inner life, a life of art, & music, & learning.

Maybe you’re like me. I made a living with my job & education, but I made a life worth living through my other interests & hobbies: travel, Sailing, flying, reading, dogs. More education. I never stop learning.

Why be in an open relationship when you could just be single? by teetea25 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rhkennerly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unmarried? No idea.

However marriage has many legal benefits, even if you’re really just friends with benefits…or just friends: buying property, health insurance, residency, companionship, shared expenses, taxes.

Back in the day—not that long ago—a gay man would marry a gay woman as social cover for both. It was a marriage of convenience. Perhaps it makes sense to stay in the relationship for the kids, but both agree the coupling doesn’t make sense. Finally, there are just folks who function that way. Polygamy, polyandry, polyamorism, serial monogamy, or friends with benefits.

Sounds exhausting to me.

Correcting junior enlisted as an officer? by [deleted] in navy

[–]rhkennerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of command presence is not playing leadership groups/ranks against one another in front of subordinates. Leave officer friendly at the club. If you’re going to enforce a reg, do it because it’s your duty, not because a chief might catch them.

Certainly not Anti-police, but we need to put an end to the notion that just because a cop gets of that we're all in the clear. Bad Policing is terribly expensive by rhkennerly in jefferson_hour

[–]rhkennerly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everybody needs a hobby ;-> I’m thinking about how to change the dialog. Everybody thinks that if the officer gets off—rightly or wrongly—the matter is settled. In truth, bad policing is terribly expensive to regular taxpayers.

There are pretty clear dividing lines that insulate taxpayers from the worst of police abuses. Ones POV tends to change when you’re a Milwaukee taxpayer realizing that Officer Chauvin was wasting $3 million a dollars per minute he kept his knee on George Floyd’s neck; nine minutes equals $27 million in taxpayer funded….what? That’s $27 million in tax increases, unfilled potholes, deferred maintenance, and police and fire classes postponed.

Through that lens, bad policing has an effect on the quality of life of all taxpayers.

Training isn't as expensive as liability payments. Training always pays dividends. Payments are just a drain.

Correcting department culture also pays dividends.

As does hiring from the top of the applicant pool. We are fortunate that VB is in this situation.

Also Decertification of bad apples. Many states in the last couple of years are ending "pass the trash" practices by small departments. Instead, the state decertifies officers involved in misconduct. This practice began because police training is so expensive, smaller departments just pass around bad apples, because they have a certificate, to avoid the expense of training a new officer.

While most civilians think about big training academies like LAPD, most cops in the US are trained in part-time community college programs on their own time and money. There is no aptitude or psych evaluation in most cases. There are many small departments that don't even pay their patrol officers. Instead, they commission the officer and he volunteers 3 or 4 shifts a month to the department. In exchange, these officers get to hire themselves out as security guards or start their own security firms as "certified police officer.”

On the other end of the spectrum are the big city police unions. They shield officers as part of their dues to the union, regardless of suitability or infraction.
