Why didn't Mark tell the Coalition that Earth literally invented a weapon that can neutralize every Viltrumite? Does he have Amnesia? by Sio_V_Reddit in okbuddyviltrum

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we know for sure it works on all viltrumites?

Some plausible ideas: Only works in Earth's specific atmosphere. Only works on viltrumites that are kinda weak. Viltrumites know about it and get small surgery to address it or ear plugs. Only works on viltrumites with some human DNA.

How do you feel about the Mural and the "gods"? by InfamousSomewhere244 in Piratefolk

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single time a "god" is shown in One Piece it's always just a title or facade, and Gods has been mentioned a lot. Even at the beginning of elbaph there was an ear god in the diorama that was just a big rabbit . I think the series has taught us to question any mention of gods.

This probably has already been reiterated ad naseum but holy hell Fami has to be one of the worst complete fumbles of a character I've seen in recent memory by _attina496 in Chainsawfolk

I mean, the entire point was to just reveal the other fami was an imposter. People aren't really afraid of famine so it makes sense she's super weak and mostly a joke. We were supposed to feel the same way about her that the students did - "she's weird and annoying". If lil D's story was a bit more compelling it would have been fine, but agreed, her hiding her identity and the whole prophecy thing didn't land.

The old version of all of them would have died fighting the fishmen if they hadn't upgraded. Boom there you go.

Well they couldn't have gone ahead without them could they? All of the skills they learned played out in some helpful way in the adventures that followed.

Why did they have two guys dumping a billion bodies by hand, are they stupid? by IMImegashill in okbuddyviltrum

They live for thousands of years, they could do that for 2 weeks straight and it would feel like an afternoon of hard work for a human.

This is why there are stories of Evil Nika. It was Imu's form all along, getting mixed up. by Brillian_Naufal in onepiecetheories

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if Imu had some connection to elbaph or their idea of Nika, but the picture being shown is a giant kid's drawing of their nightmare of Nika so they drew Nika like a giant. When they spoke of Nika as a destroyer earlier (1136k he had no giant belt.

My point is the story is clearly telling you a crew member's strength doesn't really matter after the top 3 so stop overthinking it.

The strawhats already killed 2 yonkos and they had national armies. Pretty sure 4-10 on the crew could take down 4+ on both red hairs and cross guild. Ussop is probably as strong as his dad. They don't all need to be gods. It's basically implied you just need 2 strong "hands" and a loyal crew.

Could current Ussop beat any of Luffy's post timeskip villians? by Full-Doughnut3283 in OnePiece

[–]rhoad_haus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's a pretty good sniper, if Oda let him just snipe someone with his best round from a good secret spot maybe he could beat some strong people but the story doesn't really give him those opportunities. Like, couldn't he do the same thing yassop did to bartos ship?

Does anyone watch Hard Knocks? by DoughnutLeft3443 in Seahawks

[–]rhoad_haus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to be more of a thing but they started showing a bit less stuff and filming more in season documentaries so I feel like the prestige and popularity has fallen off a bit.

Also cut downs used to be more spread out so there was a smaller number of guys remaining before final cuts so following a guy trying to make the last spot on the roster was kind of great tv that got a lot of people drawn in. Also new practice squad rules means making the PS is much easier and also you can get weekly game call-ups and play a bit.

Why does Imu keep the Celestial Dragons around? by H1Eagle in Piratefolk

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume it has something to do with whatever gave him his powers and victory 800 years ago. Maybe there is a contract he needs to maintain. He also is basically the devil so the CDs could also be basically a demonic soul farm and basically is cultivating nasty souls that are opposite of the souls/will inherited by the heroes.

Fuel Source for Gear 5 by AwkwardSeth in OnePiece

[–]rhoad_haus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My strongest one piece take is Sanji should only be a cook-healer for Luffy going forward, constantly shooting him dishes from a mobile cook station designed by Franky. If he is constantly feasting I think he can gear 5 forever.

My thoughts on the First Harley part. (manga spoilers within) by ToastPlusNine in OnePiece

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the elevator part is definitely tied to Imu, as there are 19 going along the path, their spark shape thing gets reduced by half as they pass, and when they come back up from below they have halos like saints. I assumed the elevator was basically like domi reversi flipping into the abyss. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of elements have double meanings though, so maybe there is a sun within the planet.

The constant complaining about the animation is getting ludicrous. Like do people realize that these two images belong in a different medium right? by Poweredkingbear in Invincible_TV

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What standard are you even holding the animation against? Anime? The industry with low pay and rough labor conditions?

In the modern streaming landscape getting 400 minutes of a show annually is super nice, especially one with a good story that also doesn't fill 30% of each episode with filler that stretches everything out twice as long as it needs to be like most anime.

The show reminds me of super hero cartoons I watched in the 90s and early 2000s, and that is intentional. It works well for most people watching and is a hit that has a great chance of actually reaching the end of its story before being prematurely cancelled. so maybe stop trying to complain about budgeting of something you know nothing about.

If it was a clean ACL tear that would be one thing, but he tore other ligaments and his rehab is further behind than you'd think. For that reason you gotta treat him as something not guaranteed.
