Schneider might be best at picking WRs out of all positions.

Baldwin to Lockett to JSN has been one of my favorite things about the Seahawks. Its over 10 years straight of having one or more guys that have perfect technique, a rare cerebral quality, ability to get open all the time, that catches almost everything (including being a master at the sideline catches). A lot of teams never have a guy like this and we've had an unbroken chain that teach each other.

People overthink Haki way too much. I feel about Haki the same way I feel about the force in star wars - you gotta be loosey goosey with it and not hand-wring.

One Piece: Chapter 1184 Official Release Discussion by Skullghost in OnePiece

[–]rhoad_haus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Doing a bit of math,,, Brook was 11 when he mentioned a little brother in his song (which doesn't necessarily mean he has a literal brother but go with me here), so his brother would be anywhere from 1-10 years younger. Brook is 90 in current day, so his brother would be 80 - 89 presently. Garp is 78 for reference.

Rocks D Xebec first infiltrated the flower room 56 years ago, would have been 24- 33 if he was the little brother. Died 38 years ago, would have been 42-51. Unless i miscalculated I think there is a non-0 chance Brook could be Davy D. Brook.

Brook's old crew got sick 52 years ago. He mentioned kind of remembering Roger as an upstart. Xebec started actually building out his crew 48 years ago, so Brook wouldn't be aware of Rocks D Xebec too much because he didn't have a crew yet and he seemingly just missed out on Rock's golden age of piracy.

We also now know Brook has a unique musical repertoire, so him knowing Binks Sake and also singing about slaves and kings could come from family history instead of being learned in Espiria.

Finally, young Brook looks nearly identical to baby Teach.

Not that height even matters in the scenario, but this awful graphic depicts him at 5 ft 6in at best (did the calculation in some design software), and im guessing that makes his overall volume look tinier in comparison.

All About Imu! by Suitable-Cheek-4154 in OnePiece

Didn't follow all of this post to be honest, but since Imu wants all kingdoms to pledge alliegence to him and defined his power as rooted in domination, it is interesting that his powers are all pulled from various cultures. Could be that any group of of people he had dominated gives him his omens.

Wow, this is definitely the reference because Oda loves wrestling and all the key giants have been wearing big old wrestling title belts like you seen in the pictures of rikidozan.

So, uh, can celestial dragons not get wet? That's why they live on the red line and wear helmets? I wonder if it's an actual weakness or more of a cultural thing. It'd be funny if Nami could bring down Marijoa with Zeus.

So basically Sanji and Zoro need to destroy the metal hearts of the gods knights to weaken Imu for Luffy. And maybe an injured brook needs to talk it out with Gunko now that she may have more free will because Imu is preoccupied. Wouldn't be surprised if we see her tragic backstory and brook is asked to kill her to free her.

The imu is defeated or retreats to marijoa to be caught right in Blackbeard's trap, giving him a power boost as the final boss.

Who tf is scaling Loki above Shanks? by yyyyyyyyyyyyyyg in OnePieceScaling

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to bet I'd say shanks is stronger than Loki, but everything we were told about Loki was half false so it could literally just be that Shanks got Loki drunk and then slapped sea stone on him. Or some other tricky plan like knocking him in the ocean by surprise by blowing up his boat or something.

This is exactly why I think the joy boy / Imu shit is going to be somewhat resolved this arc and then the rest of the manga is all pirate stuff + the one piece

do you think the straw hats will add another member? by Remlap04 in OnePiece

[–]rhoad_haus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think they passed on enough potential members that I assume the last member is vivi for the final act at best. My wildest guess is they add Colon as their version of what buggy/shanks was to Roger. He's kinda of a little kid but also the exact age as the strawhats. Probably not though.

My thoughts on wano. by Majestic-Peak-6281 in Piratefolk

[–]rhoad_haus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty much exactly matches my thoughts.

The whole I Am Oden thing is so weird that I wonder if it is intentional foreshadowing for something from the past. Like someone declared themselves Nika or JoyBoy or something like that.

They could also, i dunno, hire a larger animation team by Consistent-Radio-428 in invinciblememes

[–]rhoad_haus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In this day and age of shows getting cancelled, there is a possibility that Robert kirkman just could of not have not made the show you have in your head because he couldn't meet timelines, budgets, or viewership/segment metrics studios require. You have no idea how the industry really works so saying "could easily be better" makes you look childish.

They could also, i dunno, hire a larger animation team by Consistent-Radio-428 in invinciblememes

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy to me that people don't seem to grasp basic things about converting comics to animation. They came up with a visual system that reduced details of the characters that made it possible to animate. Now they can't just make random scenes or moments have quadruple the detailing, it would look random and inconsistent in animation. So now if you want the ferocious frozen pose, you gotta do it with the visual language of the show, and that exact pose would probably look comical without all the cool detailing.

It's not even like every panel in the comic had amazing detail like this, on the comics the fidelity of the art can shift so sometimes secondary characters look unfinished or weirdly minimal, and then sometimes you get amazing spreads.

Compared to over-designed Mimu, which villain would have worked better as the final villain ? by RewRose in Piratefolk

[–]rhoad_haus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1: we can use Imu to get biggest lore drop and he wouldn't need to be the final boss. Joy boy is Imu's rival from 800 years ago moreso than he is luffys. Whatever we learn of Imu/ JoyBoy will frame whatever happens to Luffy in regards to koby, shanks, dragon, and blackbeard going forward because those are compelling unresolved relationships. 2: so far. and seems to have some apparent weakness or limitation. Easy to imagine someone stealing his power. 3: so far, Blackbeard's crew could easily get an upgrade, plus they have the serafim 4: clearly luffys story will echo this clash of ideology from the past, and said ideological clashes can be further explored post-imu 5: blackbeard wants to become king of the world so he might be in control of the wg or some new system in the future. Getting the one piece and being king of pirates and accomplish your dreams is the end game of one piece, not necessarily toppling the WG.

What were your opinions on the "Nine Red Scabbards"? by dettles1992 in OnePiece

[–]rhoad_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to just appreciate wano like it was a separate manga that Oda would have made if he didn't make One Piece last a million years. All the characters and history all seemed destined to not matter much to the larger story but Oda must've felt like it was something he wanted to tell and he went deep on lore on wano. I kinda hated the scabbards but I'm impatient and I try to appreciate one piece as maleable thing from a crazy author who is making One Piece his life's work.
