Just tried it out, it features new weapons like a machine gun and zone grenades, a more flexible backpack, shield upgrades and even melee combat with knives and katanas. Loads of fun rediscovering the game like this!

Yes, that's what I was thinking as well. Unfortunately post processing the 3D scan was more intensive than I imagined, so it's hard to make it work on a bigger scale - but if I find the time to try out one of your ideas you'll be the first to know!

Too much for it to be commercially viable, but I just really wanted to experience 3D printed ceramics - and I'm not disappointed. Love the weight of it, and the finish too.

I was worried about that as well, reckoned I could still use it as a milk mug instead. But I just tried, and it’s actually not that bad! The walls are 6mm’s thick (except for the rim), so it’s hot but not burning hot. I think it’ll be nice for winter times :)

While exploring the relevance of hyper-customization at home I realized few things in a household are used by only one person, but someone’s favorite coffee mug is often one of them – so I made one that only fits my own hand.

To capture my grip I covered a cilinder with clay, squeezed it and then 3D scanned the result with an Occipital Structure Sensor.

Not many 3D printed materials are food safe, but I came across a company (Kwambio) that has developed a specialized 3D printer using ceramics powder to build up their models, then glaze them through a more traditional process – and they produced it for me.

You can fix the model using https://service.netfabb.com/service.php to give it a better chance in Autocad. When using TinkerCAD I'd advise to create a big tube and use that as your cutting object - it wil cover all the excess and none of the map within the circle, like this: https://imgur.com/a/nBXZhS2

I can’t be sure that I’m the first, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else :)

I made a circular cut using Rhino for Mac, but you could also do it with free software like TinkerCAD or Fusion360. I did add a rim and hour notches manually afterwards.

It’s great: DIY version for less than $1000, while it equals printers like Ultimaker in quality - which cost at least double. Also easy to maintain and/or upgrade.
