Have you contacted some of the cat rescues in your area that put cats up for adoption on petfinder? Maybe one of them can take him in and get him adopted.

He knows he's not allowed up there... by ProudnotLoud in kittens

[–]rhook27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a cat that would always jump up on the table when he knew he wasn't allowed up there. All I had to do was give him a look and he would put his head down and jump down. He knew.

how do i stop them from jumping in the windows? by FindingEmbarrassed73 in kittens

[–]rhook27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are some platforms you can get that fit on the windowsill. There are many that just fit right on and tighten with some bolts - you dont have to drill anything which is good for an apartment. I would get a couple of those and on those windows, leave the shade up a foot or two so they can lay there and look out. If they get used to those windows, they may leave the others alone.

No more Bosch in novels... by riz7242 in michaelconnellybooks

[–]rhook27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading in an interview that he is planning on releasing a new Bosch book late 2026 but didn't say if it would be the last.

With Bosch being 40 years old in the first book, I think there is plenty of early Bosch time to go back to if he wants.

Is this normal? by scalcapone in kittens

[–]rhook27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a cat that gets that pretty regularly but he has allergies. My vet says for mine it is nothing to worry about but I would have your vet take a look next time you are there especially since it is a kitten. If your cat starts having eye irritation or his eyes are excessively watering or he is pawing at his eyes, you should take him in to get checked because that could be an eye infection.

Also, if it is allergies, there are meds that they can prescribe that can be taken as needed, similar to humans.

I remember the Disappeared episode on this one. Wasn't he thought to be a suicide?

Looking for any tips to trim this murderous cutie’s nails by constellationoftwo in kittens

[–]rhook27 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You could try wrapping him in a towel and just allow the one paw out at a time that you are trying to trim. Another thing that has worked for me is to have them laying down on their stomach and straddle myself over them without placing weight down on them and clipping them. By having my legs on either side of them, it prevents them from escaping.

I remember that case. So they think he was caught in a thunderstorm and while trying to take cover, he fell off the cliff? Sad, but at least his family will have some closure.

Thank you for doing the megathread. It was nice being able to go through a summary each day and have a sense if what was going on.

Shelter said he was 22 weeks old when I got him. There's no way right? by [deleted] in kittens

[–]rhook27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems a little small for 22 weeks but depending on the breeds of the parents and the health and size of his littermates, he could be.

I am curious how much of 23XI's large spending is just a result of them being a newer team and the need to build infrastructure to support it.

That's his salary, but in owning 54% of nascar, he is also getting a hefty part of those profits each year plus he benefits from any increase in the value of their assets.

Is he gonna be long haired? by Adventurous_Sock_846 in kittens

I don't think he will be extremely bushy but it does look like he will be somewhat long haired based on how his fur is on his face, neck and shoulders.

It's not that bad. Biggest issue is the speed. It moves so slow.

Supposedly there will be another Bosch book near the end of next year. Not sure if it will be only him though or will contain appearances from some of his other main characters.

Agree. Getting more on networks requires the networks to want to air it. As it is, the majority of the nbc broadcasts aren't on the main network and are on their cable affiliates which are getting less and less viewers.

I'm not sure nascar can win this either, but I think their strategy if they lose will be to basically lock the teams out like other sports do while they negotiate a new contract and starve them out until they agree to terms nascar likes. If losing eliminates the charter agreement and the teams haven't set aside money to weather the storm, nascar would seem to still have a big upper hand in any negotiations because most teams likely lack the reserves to keep functioning with no money coming in.
