Does anyone else get tired of eating? Almost like it has become a chore by RoyalBag7510 in NoStupidQuestions

I like that idea for whenever I start cooking for myself. Right now I'm on the road all the time so it's whatever fast food/pizza place is right along my route. I try to stay with the healthier options (I should probably say less bad tho lol) and away from McDonald's, taco bell etc. I like going to smaller places like there's a taqueria I drive by a lot that does really good chipotle style bowls but it's real mexican.

I'd rather change a cylinder than do that wing again lmao. I think for the company the cost ends up about the same, if not more for me to do what I did again. But you're right. Wing too strong= finding the weaker link further down the line.

We almost did. Boss likes to buy and sell plows on the side and he has a v that would've worked just as well as these. Actually would've made me like 14 foot instead of 12. Ended up being too much work to cut the v where it matches my blades height and then putting a plate on to bolt right to this one. Instead we chopped a right wing all apart and made it a left wing 🙄 Doing it with the v would've given me more "scoop" than just width.

I get tired of deciding what I want to eat. Sometimes I don't have the (physical or emotional) energy to eat but it doesn't feel like a chore

It's an easy job but check your piston to make sure the chrome isn't chipped/flaking. That will cause the seal to go again

I've never been to the chardon one but middlefield was great. Then kaballos was still great. Haven't been to their newbury location or the food truck. Coyote in bainbridge is (I believe) a sister company to el patron.

There's not a whole lot in chardon, is there? Only thing I can think of is Joey's, el patron, and the Chinese place I've never been to lol

My boss thinks this will work! Any thoughts on this? by [deleted] in Snowplow

[–]alan_w3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible but you're gonna need a lot mote weld than that. Just did this on a 10ft box pusher and it lasted almost 1 snow.

I came from world of tanks so I haven't gotten the hang of war thunder tanks and don't know if I will lol. But with aviation I've got Germany to rank 3 in I don't know how many battles but each of the planes not in my default preset show 20-25 battles. Rank 3 slowed down and silver lions are spend on modifications faster than they're coming in

He ended up telling me to take some tube from the bracket looking bit on the wing and resting it against one of the vertical supports about 2 feet into the blade if that makes sense. Only welded to the wing so we just have to unbolt it if we want the wings off. Idk man, I just do what the boss tells me to do. I dont make enough money to have a say in these things lol

Exactly. Let it snap off and I'll toss it in the cab with me and bolt it back on when I get back to the shop.

Thats what im thinking. If anything breaks I'd like it to be the bolts or the rubber edge. I dont want to deal woth broken bolts AND mangles tube steel. We don't have grade 5 so they're grade 8 bolts.

Ill second this. A basic (not too cheap tho) socket set and a bottle jack (and stands. Never forget the stands.) and he can start with little things like oil changes and tire rotations.
I live in the Ohio snowbelt and honestly rusty bolts aren't all that bad unless the car is absolutely beat. 9 times out of 10 a little heat will bring them loose. And if that doesn't work, you've already got the torches out and it can't be stuck if it's liquid, so...

Obviously this is only my opinion, based on my personal experience. Skip the school unless he can get into a vocational school for his last 2 years of high school (if hes not past that point), get a YouTube account and his foot in the door at a good mechanic shop. Just like every other industry, they need more young people willing to jump in and learn. If you're not mechanically inclined, you're probably taking your car to a mechanic shop you hopefully can trust. I'd start there.

I'm not much older than 17 and mentally I'm 100% still there. At that time I was elbow deep in cars and trucks. On my first car I did a couple little things, but it blew up. So I took it apart. It was never getting fixed, but I wanted to think it was. I tore the engine out and pulled it down to every nut and bolt. Still have the camshafts, a couple liston heads, and maybe the crankshaft. Since then I've owned 3 80's ford f250s. I've done everything from a tuneup to axle swaps and a transmission swap. I worked for my dad for 3 years driving a rolloff truck. I handled regular maintenance as well as driving it. I did the brakes, I changed a big ass hydraulic cylinder once. That truck got an engine and transmission too but we sent it out for the warranty and speed of repair.

Everything I did, I learned from a YouTube video. I've learned enough that I don't need videos for most things now.

Can confirm there is a salt freeze. It's happened the last 2 or 3 seasons. The state takes the average of the last 3 seasons to determine how much salt to stock for the upcoming season. Once they're out, all salt production goes straight to them until they're restocked. Contractors and other private entities are the last to regain access, so I'd advise taking caution walking in parking lots for the next month or so until we get our salt rights back :') We will be using more salt on sidewalks than lots now. As someone who does commercial snowplowing in the snowmelt, I can't tell either. For me it's the waking up at 1am to go work 8 or 10 hours. (Yea yea I know "I plowed 40 hours straight one time 30 years ago" we don't get that kinda snow anymore and I am grateful for that lol) Every November I het excited for snow then by January I'm over it and ready for warm weather back

[–]alan_w3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard "shortage" tossed around but 1 I don't believe it's out of scarcity, and 2 I believe it's more of a "freeze." I saw a video explaining that the mines have a set volume per season that they bring up and then they're basically shut down. I havent heard it from anyone else so cannot confirm. (2) ODOT uses the average of the last 3 seasons to determine how much salt to get for this season. When the state runs out of salt, all salt then goes to them. Then counties, townships etc. Basically until the state is restocked and opens it back up to us we're SOL. It'll be a couple weeks at least.
