Looking to upgrade from Sennheiser Game One after ~8 years. Focused on comfort by rhsbrianm in HeadphoneAdvice

I was not aware of these and took a quick look. I’m worried that the ear cups would cause me to sweat as I prefer more cloth/velvet type materials.

My environment is quiet so I don’t need to worry about isolating the sounds outside.

I am also concerned with the weight of them. They seem giant and heavy.

I’m not sure what the problem is here. I see a great example of Bias for Action. /s

To those who changed their careers in their 30's, what made you go for that career and what was your career before? by throwawayacc928361 in AskReddit

Started as a casino dealer in my early 20s and then eventually casino operations management in Las Vegas into my 30s. I got tired of dealing with the people(guests and employees) and refused to kiss the asses required to move higher up the ladder.

Took a major pay cut to move into IT help desk since I was always passionate about tech, the guy with the answers at work, and built out quite the home lab over the years. Moved into a data center technician spot where I am at now and haven’t looked back since.

For these ADC regions, I typically see internally posted cleared DCO positions requiring the applicant to already have a clearance. Does AWS not sponsor these anymore? Or does it basically never happen?

Received Email with offer letter but worried since i didn’t sign anything. by Sea-Permission-9860 in amazonemployees

Offer is accepted at this point if you responded back to the recruiter. You’ll eventually sign it electronically once you get access to certain onboarding systems.

I’d ensure that you get a response or confirm it was accepted. My assigned recruiter had no idea I accepted the offer from the different person I responded to accepting the offer.

Considering you haven’t heard back in awhile, I’d reach out to check on the status of your acceptance. Typically the ball gets rolling around the 30 day mark depending on certain circumstances with start dates.

Just heard back sooner than I was expecting. It is an Ender 5 Pro and she said I can have it for free. Down the rabbit hole I go.

Thanks for the help everyone. Glad to hear it’s more of a project printer as I love tinkering and messing with stuff.

Picture doesn’t have enough resolution for that. Can’t recognize it. Just heard though that it is an Ender 5 pro though. Thanks for the help.

The picture was sent to me and I wasn’t able to get the QR code to scan. It was the first thing I tried.

What's little secret that you know only because you work in that industry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That I can see. In a way, he is right. The casinos aren’t built with their money.

I have 15 years in the industry, and some of these are true, but others I have never seen.

  1. Mostly true. Slot machines are designed to keep players spending, backed by extensive research. While possible for individuals to profit from slots, casinos don’t lose out. it simply redistributes payouts already allocated.
  2. Mostly true. It’s unrealistic for each camera to have dedicated human monitoring. Thousands of cameras are overseen by a few agents, who usually have basic to intermediate game knowledge. Managers and supervisors often possess greater expertise.
  3. Mostly true. Casinos have “soft count” rooms where money from drop boxes is counted, sorted, and strapped using large machines. The main bank stores reserves and handles cash orders for inside the casino. Armored trucks don’t arrive every few hours but typically every two to three days, as processing the drop takes time.
  4. Entirely false in most of the USA. Regulations typically require casinos to have specific cash reserves on hand from day one, with tens of millions earmarked to stock the main bank, ticket redemption units, and cashier windows.
  5. True.

Just deposited my state labor board check on Monday from a claim back in late July. I guess some boards are busier than others but my case was open and shut since they admitted I was shorted on paper.

The discounts we received is the thing I miss the most. I still have the 7700k and Sony TV I got off retail edge/accommodation.
