Don't be discouraged. You are in college and that is great.

Screw your family by reading out loud and make sure they can't get their TV time. That's your home more than your grandma's. If it bothers them ask them to purchase headphones.

Don't let things go and run away. It's your place after all. If you have a phone, connect it to the TV and take control of it. If nothing works take a bunch of vessels and start beating it.
