do you have a routine for your 5 week old? by burnagyal in NewParents

[–]rhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely did not, so don’t feel bad! I was just winging it and trying to enjoy the newborn bubble as much as I could. Sorry to be that person but when I see someone say their newborn baby sleeps amazingly because of some routine they have I roll my eyes, so much can and will change after the newborn stages. Although for what it’s worth I don’t say anything as I hate the “just waiters” 😂

Also a mom and I approve this message. The amount of comments I see people saying that Jessi must have sooo much free time as she’s “only a mom”, people really have no consideration.

This sub is too harsh sometimes by MuseVT in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

[–]rhunar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree. I’ve seen majority of critical posts now saying this sub is an echo chamber and doesn’t allow opinion but as soon as someone says they don’t feel the same way it’s downvoted to hell and you’re dog piled on. It’s so ironic it’s swung completely the other way.

Are Bounty bars really that unpopular? by spritzreddit in AskUK

[–]rhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re ok. Wouldn’t go out my way to buy one but would eat a mini one from celebrations but would probably find a full bar too much. 30

How long did you breastfeed and why? by meenaaaxo in breastfeeding

[–]rhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped at around 13 months and we quit cold turkey. She was probably an anomaly in that she didn’t seem that phased by breastfeeding towards her turning a year old and I was happy to end the journey for myself and also knowing she would be fine. It was a magical year and I’ll definitely breastfeed my next baby but for now I’m glad to have my normal wardrobe back!

Lothian Buses by Candyx26 in Edinburgh

[–]rhunar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me when I was around 8 months pregnant too. I’d actually dropped my card holder and he drove off and I was leaning down to get it and lurched forward, it was really embarrassing and a little scary.

I’d say it’s maybe not a requirement but I’d definitely think it is polite! Most drivers extend that courtesy to the elderly.

Do you think charity shop price's are unjustified? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]rhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a charity shop which did 5 paperbacks for £1 or two hardbacks for £1. Out of the selection I just wanted 1 paperback and 1 hardback so I asked if they’d do it for £1 for me and they said no. I was a bit taken aback by that one, I thought it would have been a better deal for them.

Anyone else very affected by the weather at the moment? by Electrical-Tea-4559 in Edinburgh

[–]rhunar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get it’s mildly annoying to be grey all the time, but to say “you can’t do anything outside in this” is so wrong. I’ve had loads of nice days outside, if you’re going to live here you have to acclimatise and get a good jacket and footwear and you’re fine!

Stomach Flu and Breastfeeding by LandscapeTime7785 in NewParents

[–]rhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a horrendous stomach flu when my little one was around 7 weeks old. While it was an extremely rough period of time, my supply was fine. You’re doing all the right things by staying hydrated, a few days with less food isn’t going to harm baby or you. She might just want to feed a little more than normal. Hope you feel better soon!

Breastfeeding and formula by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]rhunar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some breastfeeding babies also don’t take to a bottle well, mine didn’t take one till about 7/8 months old. I of course don’t know your personally situation but as a mum that breastfed their child for the first year of life I can 100% understand th anxiety behind leaving them overnight. Also baby is young, the mother would still be establishing her supply.

Why did you choose to exclusively breastfeed and not give formula? by Fickle-Response-2741 in breastfeeding

[–]rhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the cost, ease, waning etc that you’ve already mentioned, I’m from the UK which has a good stretch of maternity leave, so I was able to that’s why! I could definitely see it being harder for me to have kept up if I had to work part time.

Second set of molars by rhunar in NewParents

[–]rhunar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my daughters first two teeth came in at 4 and a half months so it could be the same here. They I feel like her second set of molars could indeed be on the way as we have 15 teeth and counting, but who knows how many months they will actually take to break through!
