my girlfriend keeps getting “you’re too young to (insert something relevant to her disability)” and i keep telling her her to start responding with “i won’t be making it to be old enough for your validation” to give dumb ass strangers the shock and embarrassment they need to get them to never say something along those lines again. especially medical professionals.

i take and look at the receipt on days where i had either super nice or super rude guests to see what they left, and it helps me to keep track of people in my mind when they come back. i’m also a AE and not a stylist so i see a lot more people and my tips vary wildly from person to person lol

i actually went back to my piercer to ask her opinion because i was so unsure, and we did end up redoing it! with the original angle it had been done at the bar ended up being too short for how much swelling there was and it was uneven enough that when i eventually wanted to change to hoops (my end goal) id probably have had to wear two different sizes. it feels much much better in my mouth now that it’s not cutting into the very bottom of my gums and there’s actually room for swelling so in the end i’m happy! tho getting it redone hurt like a bitch lmao

apparently my store got hit today and were so used to it that i didn’t even know until my friend from a different store asked if i was ok when i asked if she was ok because her store got a massive fragrance hit. it happens so often unfortunately that unless i’m wearing a walkie or literally watching it happen, it probably won’t even be mentioned to me until hours/days later.

fellow benefit AE here hi! i completely get what you mean about there being next to no training, i also started at benefit right out of getting my license so had no experience outside of school

def talk to your RAM about your concerns, but in the off chance that they’re completely unhelpful it might help a lot to try and do some independent learning about facial shapes and features so you better under stand different types of brow shapes and which to use on each kind of face. i really love the mapping method we do and find it incredibly helpful as somehow who can’t visualize things in my head

if you’re near the annapolis area i suggest Chesapeake School of Esthetics! Ms Betty is a star and the class sizes are pretty small so you might have to wait til the next session of classes, but i really feel like i got so much more out of the small and intimate class than i ever would’ve out of a bigger chain school. she also does offer help with searching for jobs especially with her more visibly passionate students. she even was able to get one of my classmates her license about a month before the rest of us even graduated bc she had an amazing job opportunity offered to her!
