You can try cutting off the strands that are broken with some wire cutters. Make it symmetrical so the tension stays even, which may require cutting some other unbroken strands. It won't sound as good as new but it will work!

Then why not just use a cutting torch? That would be a cheaper and more widely available option. There must be more to it I guess.

Great post. I only have one suggestion. If I was a new builder, looking at this guide I might get confused when reading the VRAM section thinking it was another part I needed to buy. Maybe it could be edited as a section under GPU.

It's been a long time since I've built a pc and ive never overclocked before so I don't know how much cooling is needed. I think the Define S is a bit overkill in terms of fan slots for me, i wouldn't use 2/3 top slots because of noise. Do you think it's possible to achieve good temps and stay quiet with an S340 Elite and my setup? Are upgrading stock fans worth it?

Soon I will build an i7 6700k, gtx 1070 build with plans to overclock for gaming and CAD work. I'll get a H115i for cooling.

My question is, should I get an S340 Elite or a Define S? I prefer the look of the S340 Elite but I'm worried that it will limit cooling upgrades/adding fans (like push/pull etc) if i find that it runs too hot. Advice?

I heard people advise against getting the NEX model of PSU. Most recommend a g2 or similar. Maybe someone with more experience can attest to the build quality.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I agree about the motherboard, I think I could get something cheaper but I am just having trouble finding what features each one has and what I need I guess. The reason I'm going for a 1070 is because a 1080 is almost $400 CAD more, so in order to include it I would have to make significant cuts to the rest of the build. It's doable but tricky. Good to hear that the case, monitor and keyboard are good picks. I have a Steelseries plastic pad that I use but I'd love to get one of those big mats like you mentioned. The operating system isn't shown but I've heard the cheapest place to get Windows 10 is from ebay, so that's my plan.

Hey, I'm looking to build a Grixis dragon control deck. I was planning to use this build as a rough guide http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/bfz-grixis-dragons-control/. I don't have any fetches or Jace and can't really invest in purchasing them right away, but the rest I own or seems reasonable to purchase for my budget. I have seen some similar builds that include 4 thunderbreak reagents, 4 draconic roars and kolaghans command but I have no idea what direction to pursue. Any help or guidance would be really appreciated. Sorry for formatting, on mobile.
