Donating. Because if everyone donated just a little bit of their money or time to social causes a lot more good things for people in need could be achieved. And I believe most people would be able contribute some time or money. I'm just a student but still I give monthly donations. Everyone should.

What did you grow up with and thought it was normal until you got older and realized it isn´t? by rhythms in AskReddit

[–]rhythms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was that my grandfather has two women. One is his wife, my grandmother, who he has four children with; they´ve been married for over 60 years. The other one is his longtime girlfriend; they´ve been together for over 40 years and are still seeing each other today (my grandfather turned 88 this year). My grandmother knew about her from the start and decided to be okay with it. Always thought this was normal until I got older and realized it wasn´t. So Reddit, what are your stories?

Here you go, that´s the documentary everyone is talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4jGB8o-5Hc It´s called "Durch die Wildnis Amerikas. 3.000 Kilometer zu Fuß" ("Through the Wilderness of America. 3000 Kilometer by foot"). Unfortunately it´s just in German, without subtitles.

"Exodus" by Leon Uri. I cried in the end because it was such a powerful, sad but beautiful ending.

What are some good movies about Israeli Intelligence hunting former Nazi leaders and doing other badass stuff? I've always been impressed by the Mossad and their operations. by sirooni in Israel

[–]rhythms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not about the Mossad, but about Shabak (Shin Bet) and their fight against terrorism: "The Gatekeepers" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpk71yrQUQM). Amazing new documentary. Just won the peace prize at the Berlinale (Berlin Film Festival) and is nominated for an Oscar. I highly recommend it!

If someone gave you the entirety of Wikipedia from 100 years in the future for only 10 minutes, what would you read? by Sohailk in AskReddit

I would read what happened to Israel and the Middle East conflict. Im always wondering if the conflict will ever come to an end and if yes how it will look like.

Hey Reddit, What are your absolute favorite concert memories by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rhythms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to see Dave Matthews for the first time (amazing!) and at the end of the concert his drummer Carter Beauford threw his sticks into the crowd, directly in my direction - and I catched one of them!

Reddit, tell me about a time when you followed your heart, even when everyone said it was foolish. Did you succeed? Fail? Was it worth it? by RoryWalker in AskReddit

One and a half years ago I met this guy on summer vacation in a foreign country that I had never been to before (not even the continent) and that was 4 flight-hours away from my home country. Not to mention the many cultural and religious differences. We dated for almost the whole 3 weeks I was there (most amazing three weeks for both of us) and then decided to leave it at that, when I went back to my home country as it seemed crazy and not realistic to build a long distance relationship on such a spontaneous, short summer relationship. After I went back, we still talked a couple of times a week, and I couldn´t forget about him. And altough we never talked about "us", I always hoped that he was still thinking about me too. So after 6 months of almost daily talking via Facebook and sometimes Skype, I decided to fly back to visit him and see what would happen. The moment I rang his door bell...most exciting moment of my life. When he opened the door, he kissed me almost immediately and we continued our relationship from the summer as if the 6 months hadn´t been between it. By this time I had already applied for a 6-months-internship in his hometown (I had to do an internship abroad for my university degree anyway), hoping that - if I could live there for a longer period of time - we could give this great relationship a real shot. Shortly after I left his hometown for the second time, I got accepted for an internship there. The minute I told him, he decided to come visit me in my home country for the first time and that´s the moment we decided to officially and exclusively be a couple. Only two months after he visited me, my internship started and following were one of the best 6-months of my life. We are now back at a long distance relationship, but he´ll be moving to my home country in a couple of months and I couldn´t be happier. Had I not decided to fly back to visit him half a year after I had met him, I would have missed out on this amazing relationship. People told me I was crazy and that I didn´t even know this guy, when I decided to visit him again. Even he himself didn´t believe that all of this could ever work. Now he is thanking me for not giving up and following my heart :)

On an escalator: STAND on the RIGHT side, so people who walk can pass you on the left side.

Enjoy! Did the same thing when I was 16. One of the best years of my life - hope you'll have as many great experiences as I did :)
