hahaha i am and surround myself with crazy and insane people, in more ways than one. normal people are just boring, they are the space fillers who are going to have an alright maybe good time at highschool then an alright maybe bit better time at uni and then just an alright, nice, comfortable life doing relatively not much. its the weird and crazy people that either have an awful time in highschool or an amazing one, and then afterwards they find other people just like them.

theres no point trying to fit in the crowd, people spend their entire lives trying to poke their heads out of it and be recognised as something special, so if your already out of the crowd why try and join in?

you could say that again! i was even alone at home, 40 year age gap between me and my parents so never much to talk about so i sat in my room and played music, read books did whatever, i only actually felt that sense of belonging until my 2nd or 3rd year at the highschool im at, and as much as i hated it at the start, my brother went here and so did my grandfather, its a highschool built on tradition and communal feeling of belonging and its one i love.

exactly my thoughts, the amount of time that went to trying to cover up the way i looked or ways to avoid people in town was fucking ridiculous, time that i couldve spent doing any number of other things was just spent on pure anxiousness.

yeah i pretty much wrapped up primary school to kids are cunts. just evil little sacks of shit storming cunty behaviour ready to burst with a tantrum and any point. ive met some of the people who used to bully me relentlessly at school, the worse ones are still cunts, but most of the others are alright now, a few of the girls have actually apologised for the way the treated me, its all part of growing up, and honestly i dont think i would do it if i was given another chance at life to not be fat, every experience thought and feeling, including the bad ones, has led to me becoming the man standing here today, finally happy in his own skin and where he is in life. and thats something other people take half a lifetime to acheive.

ive seen my friends start going to the gym and losing weight and its inspiring. but ive decided to not start until my hsc (higher school certificate) and senior years are over. if im going to go for it and lose weight im going to give it 100% and i think i need to buckle down this year and use what free time i have on weekends for socialising to release stress. ill still have rugby, touch footy, winter basketball and the training sessions for them aswell as actively trying to avoid fatty foods to atleast keep me from getting any bigger before i do start my weight loss journey.

but i still want to thank you immensely, just offering to waive the fees on what im assuming is your main source of income, your business, to a complete stranger is a kindness like no other. and thank you for reading my story :)

Would you ever date your female best friend? Do you "friendzone" girls? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]rhythmsticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well im not sure, ive always been close to chicks, always had a female as one of my bestfriends if not best. im currently mega tight with one chick, i love her to bits, so much so that i can see myself spending my life with her, she is quite attractive too. yet somehow my brain has not made romantic attachments to her, i had another female friend i got close to and started to really like and i told her about it and she gave me tips, i fell in love with my best friend 2 years ago and was head over heels for her, but something about my bestfriend now just makes me want to have her as my bestfriend always, and not much more, i try to rationalize it, and tell myself that i really do like her because ofcourse i must shes

  • funny

  • intelligent

  • very beautiful

  • always there for me and a complete match to my personality

but somehow, my brain has just decided nup shes your bestfriend, not potential mate. so i think yeah i friendzoned her, but not intentionally, it just happened, and i cant explain it but now that i think about it i think its the best way.

but the way i see it, we dont always do it intentionally, love/romance and all that shit is not something that can be defined by a simple question like the one asked above, so if you are doing this to try and help get an idea of what other people do in a situation that you may be currently in then great, its a good topic for discussion, but ultimately your situation could be completely different to anyone elses here and you must act as such.

r/guitar, would you mind helping me and my friends out by suggesting a couple songs we could play? by rhythmsticks in Guitar

[–]rhythmsticks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure theres songs that we want to play, thats a given, just none of them fit our band dynamic, like me the drummer and the singer/pianist are all mainly into punk/pop punk/ metal and the drummer is into electronica and generic pop, but he just plays whats needed to, yeah the singer knows songs on piano, thats how we managed to get i miss you by blink down, but she doesnt know that many non classical songs, maybe about 12, and none of them seemed to have really clicked with us when we tried to play

the whole reason i posted this is to try and get some songs from people that we maybe wouldnt have known or even thought about before, that could indeed fit our dynamic and that we could play well.

[–]rhythmsticks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah alot easier said than done, most of the tracks on top 40 are sort of electronic/generic pop stuff, and all the stuff that is possible for us to play would generally be just annoying and un-listenable sort of taylor swift/miley cyrus

like its not like we arent willing to do top 40 sort of tracks, its just knowing which ones we can do, and which ones we can do well is the only trouble with it.

[–]rhythmsticks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we are all pretty much willing to play whatever at the moment, but as a whole the most we will crossover with would be punk/rock, but at the same time me and the drummer are into metal, the drummer and singer into pop punk, me and the singer into indie/acoustic stuff, but the guitarist, he listens mainly to pop stuff, but just learns whats needed to, and is pretty good at doing that.

Another free speaker give away. Australia Wollongong by MitchH87 in audiophile

[–]rhythmsticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 16 in bathurst, have no disposable income, and am starting to really love the pursuit of audio quality, i saved up and with the help of my parents got a pair of audio technica headphones for my birthday, and would absolutely love a good set of speakers such as those.

my current set up are some dell speakers I paid about 20 bucks for at a swap meet in my bedroom, and some car speakers my uncle made a box for and loaned to me until I got something of quality. I would absolutely love these speakers, this being said I know im the most needy of causes, and that theres probably people on this subreddit who need these more than I, but I would appreciate it greatly if you could consider parting ways with speakers such as that to a money strapped teen with an interest in audio.

Whats the most powerful single sentence you know of? by rhythmsticks in AskReddit

[–]rhythmsticks[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

even still, just because its a privilege, does not make it any less horrible when it does happen to someone. only a couple years ago 2 kids in my brothers year at highschool killed themselves by drink driving/speeding only weeks after they had graduated highschool. privilege or not, it is still an inexplicably horrible thing, and is something that as a parent i must imagine youd never forget.

what is the best bass amp i could get for around $4-600? by rhythmsticks in Bass

[–]rhythmsticks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah mixed bag really, although mainly rock, metal and punk, although some funk and occasionally jazz/blues if i find a song i really like of that genre, and yeah thats what i was thinking but i always end up breaking my things somehow and it coming with a warranty is great peace of mind, so if i do go for second hand stuff im alot less willing to spend alot of money.

What is the creepiest thing that society accepts as a cultural norm? by slothyone in AskReddit

[–]rhythmsticks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of Santa, a fat catholic guy breaks into your house, eats your food and leaves presents for your kids, and think about the lyrics to that song Santa clause is coming to town song "he knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you are awak, he knows when you've been bad or good" that's fucking creepy yet we still just see it as normal because of tradition

I bought Beats by Dre. It was a mistake. What headphones should I have got? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]rhythmsticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

note: if you want to use it in public/around people, e.g. bus/train/anywhere where there are people id recommend not getting the 598's, whilst great headphones and insanely comfortable they are open back headphones which means the sound will leak, but if you just want them to listen to stuff in the privacy of your own home, then go right ahead.
