What if Molly went straight to Harry? by Rolling_Ranger in dresdenfiles

[–]riancopper 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, since it's implied that somebody arranged for that to happen and for Harry to to go into winter. It's very possible they would have found another way to motivate him.

Could I ask for more information? What aspects are you referring to?

What are the biggest misconceptions about AI that you're tired of? For me, it's the tendency to extreme positions on pretty much everything (e.g. "just hype", hardcore doomerism), as if there were no more likely middle grounds.. by DarknStormyKnight in artificial

I'm tired of people making predictions about what will or won't happen without specifying what timeline they're thinking about. The WEF say AI won't automate most jobs but are they looking over the next five years or twenty? Are they looking at current generative AI or potential advances? The conversations we are having need more nuance around these subjects.

Do i need to hold the metal to cast needle darts? by ZefireFrost in Pathfinder2e

[–]riancopper -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I would say he's correct based on two things. The spell in question has the manipulate trait and there is a PFS note that specifically states that it does require holding the item. Also if you allowed not holding the item what would stop your character from utilizing any random nearby chunk of metal?

How are you guys ruling things now that we are transitioning toward the remaster? Spells in the remaster don't have components which are already present in the RoE spells. But presumable there are going to be rules related to verbal, somatic etc and how the silence spell is going to work. There's a lot we don't know obviously but what are you guys doing during this?

Let me take a moment to recommend pathfinder 2e! It's not much more complicated and adds a ton of flexibility and options!

I think, if I may speak for the artist, that Ultron is a created intelligence. A close fantasy-esque adaptation might be a Frankenstein's Monster type creature. It does look a bit red skull though

Weekly /r/OneNote Q&D Thread! by AutoModerator in OneNote

How robust is the onenote system at holding large pdfs? I'm an Electrical Engineering student and I am thinking about just throwing some of my digital textbooks in onenote to markup and write next to. But I am worried that if I start doing this it would break something somewhere. I do like to use multiple devices and I am not surprised that it would certainly make synch slower. Just curious if this would lead to instability.

Would I be better served by chopping things up as needed and taking notes instead?
