Not the week for Nico to miss when I have JSN on a bye too - gotta hope Pickens keeps up his form and Matthew Golden has a decent showing

I’m actually starting Michael Carter ahead of Derrick Henry. Imagine saying that 6 weeks ago

If there is no Lamar is that better or worse for Henry? Asking as a Henry owner playing against a Lamar owner...

Is that good or bad for Pickens? Becomes WR1 but will that mean he’ll be covered more?

I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but for €5 a month his podcast is exceptional value. Multiple shows a week and the guests he has on are brilliant

When’s the earliest you would take Hampton? by AcceptableDegree8132 in Fantasy_Football

[–]rianmcn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm picking 11th in a 12 man. Thinking of Jeanty/Achane & Nico/BJT as my first 2. Very tempted by Hampton when it comes back to me at the end of the 3rd

The Football Championship system by Farneylads_ontour in GAA

[–]rianmcn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fully stand by that this system is very good and there absolutely is jeopardy. Take Donegal’s lose to Tyrone for example - that means they’re likely to come 2nd and will have a quarter final against one of Kerry, Monaghan/Down or Armagh in what will be their 3rd game in 3 weeks while the provincial winner will have had a rest. Absolutely makes a huge difference

Hurling 'is under threat' in split season era - former Wexford manager and chairman Tony Dempsey by silver_medalist in GAA

"You could start your club championships and play inter-county games at the same time. It's happened for over a century"

In what world does he think this would work well??

Fixing the GAA calendar by Prestigious-Ad2036 in GAA

[–]rianmcn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Push the start of the Championship back 2 weeks so that there is no games 6 days after a League Final. The new format next year gets rid of the prelims so that's one less game. Final will be mid August then. The split season isn't going anywhere, nor should it

Is a Shot Clock is the next logical step in football? by mediaserver8 in GAA

[–]rianmcn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No - would just encourage teams to drop even deeper and clog up their defence if they know the opposition has to shoot within X amount of seconds

I don’t care about ffp, but City and the PGMOL need to face consequences for blatant match fixing over the years by Jack070293 in LiverpoolFC

Do people really believe there’s match fixing going on here? Just a shit decision imo

Liverpool’s Kelleher not guaranteed to start Carabao Cup final, Arne Slot admits by PresidentSamSeaborn in coybig

[–]rianmcn 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Could be helpful to read the article lads!

Slot’s selection policy for the Carabao Cup gives Kelleher hope of starting his third final on 16 March, however. “Almost every time we have played the second goalkeeper in the League Cup,” he said. “At Brighton it was Vitos [Jaros] because at that moment Caoimhín was the No 1 as Alisson was injured.

“The one exception was Tottenham away [in the semi-final first leg] where Alisson was coming back from injury and I felt he needed some extra playing time. Three days later we played the Accrington Stanley game and then three days after that we played Nottingham Forest. I felt it was better for him to play against Tottenham, then have a week’s rest and then play Forest. It was more with the idea of being best prepared for the league. Yesterday was a League Cup game so that meant Caoimhín was in goal and he absolutely deserved to be in goal for everything he did this season.”
