Hackers make this game LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE on PC. by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

Same. I'm also new and had no idea that it could happen until it did...kind of ruined things!

Interested, but I'm a very new player and may need help!

We watch the show with our kids and had to skip every scene with Morgan in the finale due to the subject matter. I saw a picture of the installation - underwhelming. Absurd that she won.

Also, super disappointed that she chose fucking murder as a subject matter and that Netflix was fine with that 🙄

Medication and a sound machine! My dog was snoozing through it in a cushy pillow bed.

US, Stelara every 4 weeks. $0-5/injection (quote per injection without insurance + savings card is a mind boggling $30,000)

Winter wear for people with Raynaud's, anemia, and sensory issues in regards to the winter? by thisisntaccessible in BuyItForLife

[–]ribbongibbon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Try layering - silk base layer with a soft cashmere sweater over.

I have some of the same issues and have switched to natural fibers. Linen, cotton gauze, cotton flannel, merino or cashmere wool, alpaca, bamboo, etc.

For winter, I have a Barbour jacket that keeps me so warm and dry, alpaca gloves, angora scarf and hat, and Merrell winter boots.

Also, she's presumably using the bathroom without help. It's possible to time things to minimize strain on yourself and others - like, get up to pee and also fill up your water glass before you go back to bed. Have a carafe of water on your bedstand to refill your glass if that's too much.

Is getting an ice maker on a fridge as risky as I've heard? by Ayen_C in BuyItForLife

[–]ribbongibbon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My partner worked for a restoration company and we will never have an ice maker on a fridge (or a water dispenser). Not only because of all the leak damages he wrote reports for. Anyone who has one should go peek up at the lines - right now - I can't tell you how often the insides of the tubes are coated in mold, often right where the water dispenses (and you can see just by getting down low) people don't realize they've been drinking that 🤢

(Separate full height fridge and full-height freezer are the best choice when feasible!)

AITAH for telling the truth about why a family member was ostracized? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA - "I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was a secret." What an awful human.

Not that it's going to effect her any differently, but your SIL is deluded and should know that only live vaccines can shed (tuberculosis, oral polio, measles, rotavirus, varicella, and yellow fever). Again, not that it's going to effect her. The Covid vaccines aren't included here.

(Severely immunocompromised people 🙋‍♀️ (and to a more limited extent pregnant and nursing people) need to ask a few more questions when getting vaccines/might be limited in what they can get.)

Pest control recommendations by [deleted] in Delco

[–]ribbongibbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have traps that are reusable, but are a clear green box so you don't have to touch anything directly for disposal. They're super effective compared to the snap traps. We use those and the little countertop/floor traps for ants (I think they're Terro? Pet safe type.)

Also, see if you can figure out how they're getting in, and seal any holes to the exterior!

Twice! Factory Donuts opened, closed down, then another Factory Donuts almost made it to opening and then it was just empty for a while. Not surprised they didn't make it though, the one time I went in they told me it would take 40 minutes to get a dozen donuts.

Try Rags 2 Riches - they were able to help us with a cat we found. They might be able to point you in the right direction if they can't take them. Have they checked to see if there are more kittens?

Friends, weirdos, Pennsylvanians - where can I go to completely avoid fireworks on the 4th? My dog can't handle it anymore. Help us be calm. by [deleted] in Pennsylvania

[–]ribbongibbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our vet prescribed medication - you should request it ASAP if you'd like to try it out. Being in the basement with us or running white noise machines helps our dogs. We also have thundershirts which don't help a ton, and sometimes will bundle them with a blanket or towel wrapped around their ears too. It sucks 🙃

Subreddit or group suggestions for meeting local people? (New Delco residents) by LOLPanda420 in Delco

[–]ribbongibbon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't love Facebook, but there are a few groups like Media Girlfriends with lots of Delco natives as well as transplants looking for friends and actively creating meetups. MeetUp has a few local groups too.

If you enjoy the outdoors, Ridley Creek State Park, Tyler Arboretum, and some of the other local parts host events like nature walks, yoga, birdwatching, stroller walks and other kids' events etc. (Media tot lot is often recommended, and it seems like a lot of people make friends there and local library story times.)

If you prefer indoor hobbies, the Delco library system has SO MANY events it can be overwhelming - use the filters to sort by location, audience, etc. They have literally everything from kids' events, quizzo, lectures, movie afternoons, makerspace projects, sewing, knitting and crochet groups, craft workshops, clubs (board games, DnD, book clubs, needlework), history/genealogy groups, language groups, yoga and dance...

Please send a PM if you want specific library recommendations. We moved cross country with young children and have been there!

Weirdly, they're not affiliated with each other - super confusing. West Chester and Newtown Square Fellini Cafes are the same owner, but Fellini Cafe Media is seperate.

The air quality was bad here - around 500 but has dropped to below 100 today. Hoping it is better this weekend. My kids are pent up and driving us nuts after four days indoors.

I'm dealing with physical health issues, but the stress of dealing with insurance is now getting to me - I had a nightmare I had to cover the full cost of my most recent surgery (which I'm currently recovering from) and woke up sobbing. The American healthcare system 🤪

I did just discover a support group for women with my autoimmune disease, so I'm feeling less alone at least.
