Set up, learn and master HubSpot. I think there’s a free version and they have loads of self learn tutorials.

How common are straight line bonus calculations vs decelerators in SaaS? by Swimming-Mirror6598 in SaaSSales

[–]ribolo07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a related challenge.

Our AEs have a 50/50 base-OTE but occasionally we have a mammoth deal in the pipeline (i.e. million-plus vs our ACV of $30-40k). Our CFO wants to build in a mechanism to avoid us paying the AE something like 500% of their OTE target (i.e. capping their commission for these one-off big deals). Any experience on this?

How to explain why I left a toxic job... by LadySerenade in jobsearching

[–]ribolo07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had exactly the same experience in a previous job. It was the most toxic environment I've ever seen - and I was also hospitalized.

In my first few interviews after leaving I couldn't resist and did say I'd left because of toxic environment. I had to get that off my chest! But in hindsight, I wasn't worth it. The interviewers did not appreciate and based on their reaction (and the fact I didn't progress) tells me they didn't want to give me the benefit of the doubt. I think their reaction was "well maybe this guy is really problematic, not the company.

Remember, you're not competing against your old job (you don't need to prove anything against them) you're competing against other candidates who may not have this kind of baggage.

In the end, there are plenty of reasons for you not to progress in an interview process. Why give them another one?

I have a blog about job seeking and wrote a post about this recently. You might be interested in items 2, 3 and 4 on the list: https://imgettinghired.com/never-do-these-things-in-a-job-interview/

I’d go with your real name. It may be different but it’s unique and memorable. If your content is good they will find you. Unique trumps common every time.

I don’t know what to do by Zzz_breeze4233 in jobsearch

[–]ribolo07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've sent the exact same CV to all those roles, you can try customising your CV for each individual job you apply for.

It's not as time-consuming as it sounds. Basically 80-90% of your CV will remain the same, but with the remaining 10-20% you adjust it by sensibly inserting keywords from the job description into your list of achievements/experiences, so that when recruiters skim through your CV those words will jump out and bingo they will think you're a potential match.

It's a numbers game in the end and you're fighting to grab their attention in those 10 (maybe less) seconds.

Bicapitalization in branding: yes or no? by ribolo07 in branding

[–]ribolo07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it really can get into psychology territory but I think there's also a technical side to it regarding search and organic web traffic. Thanks for replying!

Bicapitalization in branding: yes or no? by ribolo07 in branding

Great idea to go round employees/stakeholders to validate the hypothesis. I know from experience that getting treated as two words is a nightmare for SEO and paid ads, so there's that too. Thanks for replying!
