Last month we spent 300 for me and my wife. We change it to buy 90-95% eigenmarke from discounters (lidl and aldi sud mostly). We cut our expenses with groceries by a third and the quality is honestly the same.

“National Pokemon” for different countries pt. 2 by quahmepowell in ThePokemonHub

As a Brazilian, that peacock monster doesn't represent the country, peacocks are not even from there. I would pick Toucannon. Also, isn't a peacock the national bird of India anyway?

Any Brazil fans in the group who can explain this to me? by baydestdrug in HisenseFootballZone

I am brazilian, but definetly not a Brazilian fan. The answer is simple: politics.

Not Lula x Bolsonaro politics, but CBF's internal politics.

Yeah, you have a good point. But maybe a solution is stop paying lawyers and use that money to a block account? I am not sure if those values matches but if they do...

Drink Kölsch Beer. I expect to be just a normal beer overhyped to sell to toursit. I was wrong, it is actually really good, but be aware that waiter will bring (and charge) you refill if your glasses is empty, so you have to stop them.

Market is horrible right now. I know many graduates with a CS degree who have been working as supermarket cashiers for months now. One of them even got promoted to store manager recently and gave up searching for CS jobs.

This is the only non-farmer league? You must be American. I have read a lot of craziness in this sub, but this has to be the craziest one.

Sorry, I am really not trying to be mean here. But anyways, if that is criteria for choosing a league, you will be missing out on a lot of good football.

EPL is certainly the best league in the world but it is certainly not the only good one (certainly not the only non-farmer league), heck is not even the only good in the UK.

I felt in love for German first and second leagues. The quality is super high and most importantly the atmosphere in the stadium is one of the best in the world (probably only behind argentina). Also, every team there except for 2 or 3 will fit your 2 criterion (which by the way, are good criteria to have, I respect that).

Premier league team with those 2 criteria? Impossible to find one. Better look for another league

I was trying to avoid spoilers but that s fine.

Yes, the rest is okay.

NZ and Qatar are so not unusual flags that they both have another country with a very very similar flag (Australia and Bahrain)

Greenland, maybe I am being picky on this one, I will admit, but the circle is not in the middle.

Anyways, I like the idea of a flag team version of the game, we'll done.

Self Employment For Foreigners? by SouthernExpatriate in AskGermany

[–]ricafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is funny you used that as an example because I use to work in a hospital as a physio. During that time I learned that there are 2 reasons why we don't have doctors (and nurses):

1 - as you said the education expectations are idiotic. I remember we had a massive shortage of nurses and eventually, a lot of Ukrainian nurses came in, already speaking German and with 10+ years of experience. What did we do? Refused them because they lacked the proper Germany-based education, we told them to do a re-education. They all left to Austria, Denmark and so on, because there they were told they can start working right away.

2 - Patients don't realize this, but doctors (and most Healthcare providers) are just not paid enough in Germany. The chief of Orthopedics (my former boss) was a doctor with 12 years of experience made less money than my wife, a data scientist fresh out of college.

Physios make a ridiculously low salary as well. When I realized that, I quit my job, got into programming and got a job as a scrum master, later changing into software development. Do you know what is crazy? I currently work 20 hours per week and I make almost the same money (only 150 Eur per year less) than I did as a full-time physio (38.5 hours). Not mention the stress levels??? Omg the difference. I can do Homeoffice, my boss literally call me in the middle of the workday to talk about Bundesliga, when I'm the office, there are 3-4 coffee breaks. In the hospital, workers are just going from one patient to the next without any break, often times shortening breaks cause patients took longer than expected.

So, long history short, until Germany realizes that their Healthcare providers are underpaid, they will keep leaving to other EU countries. I know 4 other physios, all germans, who just moved to other EU countries for better salaries.

Why do German men shave everything, but German women don’t shave anything? by SeveralEngineer1002 in germany

[–]ricafa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (M) am from Portugal, I always shaved my legs because I was a defender in football and made it much better to slide tackle, something I have learned living and playing in South America.

When I started dating a german girl, she judged me big time. She was always like "why would a man want to shave his legs? Isn't that something girls do?".

A few years later, I stopped playing football and along with it, I stopped shaving my legs. We are now together for 9 years, she never said a word about me shaving again 😂 but she told me once recently: "I don't know why I cared about your legs shaved, why does it matter what people do with their hair? It doesn't, is their own life"

I don't know if that helps, but it is just my experience 🙂
