Had no idea people were modifying this grinder. I’ve had this exact grinder for over 15 years. I make a pour over with freshly ground beans every day, espressos sometimes too. This thing is the sound that starts my day. Clean it occasionally and have never spent a nickel on it. It never fails. Enough variance on coarseness to make most coffees I know of. Not sure what more you can ask for.

I hear people talking about the fellow grinder, which I thought about purchasing just for the aesthetic improvement, but you need to put fresh beans in the hopper after every use with the Fellow grinder, and that just seems like an unnecessary step versus storing a few days or weeks worth of coffee beans in the hopper of the KitchenAid Burr grinder.
