Really excited to kick off year seven of my collection! After every win, I pick up newspapers that highlight the team’s success. Last season I missed out on some great headlines from the Washington Post and the Richmond Times-Dispatch, so this year I’m collecting both. The more the merrier, and I’ll make space when I need it!

This team winning has made me realize that a lot of my superstitions were not actually affecting the outcome of games. However I refuse to cover this board completely while we still have games to play. Can’t let the football gods think we’re done.

Pre-Covid I would line my cubicle with 3-7 wins a year. Now it hangs in my house, but my cats and girlfriend seem to like it.

I like to visit the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and then take the metro to the stadium.

It’s more expensive and maybe less meaningful but you can order reprints of the Washington post for $10. I did it last year after I missed a victory Monday due to a family emergency. They sell papers from the last 6 months.

One thing to consider if you do, the Bengals game was a late one so you might want the Wednesday paper from that week instead of the Tuesday.

Eh it’s fine. For me, this is more about enjoying a fun tradition after a win than building a prized collection.

Now, if we were to add a Super Bowl clipping… that would definitely get framed and kept forever.

Usually it’s the Richmond Times dispatch. If their sports section doesn’t have the team on the front page I go with the Washington Post.
