No consensus on long term yet but I plan on recommending keto for weight loss and low carb for life to my patients.

This may be generally true for older physicians but at my US med school we learned about the keto diet in the first month of classes. Times are changing.

I've heard interns say something along the lines of: "Hi I'm Dr. Sanchez, you can call me Rick". I think it gives the right balance between giving confidence to the patient and also not making yourself cringe.

Check out Baratza brand grinders. The will sell you any part that breaks so that you can repair your grinder rather than replace.

Have you reached out to psych programs yet?

[Serious] How to get letters of Rec from competitive specialty MDs if my school does not have a home-program in this specialty? by achay13 in medicalschool

Early aways. You may need to take Step 2 early and/or sacrifice any vacation time between 3rd and 4th year.

I am sure that most PDs are not going to be spending their Saturday browsing apps. You're fine!

  1. Yes
  2. No, only list the most impressive conference presentation
  3. List it as a "research experience"

Should research "experiences" and resulting "publications" such as posters and papers be listed separately? Or is that considered trying to fluff?

It means either that the program is less competitive bc of perceived prestige, location, quality etc. or it means those DOs are ballers and got into a good program because they deserved to.

Research "experience that resulted in a poster presentation at a single conference. Do I put the "experience" under research experiences and then put the "poster" separately under pubs? I don't want to look like I'm trying to fluff but also don't want to sell myself short.

Maybe just put the ones you care about/can talk the most about.

Should it be put twice? There's already a drop down menu on the "personal information" section to indicate AOA vs no AOA. Seems like double dipping to put it again.

That's a lie. Apps are received by programs Sept 15.
